Blaziken/Emboar BW-on

So, I'm a new comer to the trading card game, but I've been a long time Magic: The Gathering player for about 12 years (I'm 22). A lot of my friends that play Yu-gi-oh! and Magic: The Gathering have told me to start playing Pokemon with them as they're also transitioning and trying it out, but some are going hard core with the game. I have a friend who already built the Accelgor/Gothitelle lock, Quad Enteis, Empolean/Terrakion, etc. As you can see, they built some of the top tier decks. Problem is I love to play casual, but keeping it still competitive to my play style. Here is what I've come up with and hopefully you can help me out here.

Blaziken/Emboar Deck: 60

Pokemon: 15
3 Torchic (60 hp) DEX
2 Combusken DEX
3 Blaziken DEX

2 Tepig (70 hp) BW
1 Pignite BW (the one that can fetch for fire energies)
2 Emboar BW (the fire energy accelerant)

2 Entei EX DEX

Supporters: 8
3 Junipers
4 N
1 Cilan

Trainers: 23
2 Random Receiver
4 Switch
4 Rare Candy
3 Pokemon Catcher
3 Ultra Ball
3 Level Ball
1 Heavy Ball
3 Energy Retrieval

Energies: 14
14 Fire Energy

Strategy:
The strategy here is just to set up Blaziken as fast as possible in the bench and be able to catcher/switch to 1 shot most Pokemon. With the use of Emboar and Entei to set up, I think its worthy. The Torchics and Tepigs were selected because they have the most hp which thus helps me not die to Tornadus EX so easily.

Here are my concerns:
1. Is the pokemon base fine? Think I should take out or add any?

2. How does the supporters look? I put in 2 Cilans instead of 2 Biancas which were the ones I originally had since Cilan works well with Emboar.

3. How does the trainers look? I'm not sure how relevant Exp. Shares are in the deck, but I figured I'd put them in there just in case. I also considered putting in Plus Powers, but then I realized that if Blaziken is going to 1 shot or 2 shot pokemon regardless of Plus Powers, its best to take them out. The 130 will always 1 shot or 2 shot regardless of Plus Powers.

Thank you very much for reading!

i would take out the EXP Shares for Energy Retreival cuz EXP share isnt really needed in this deck

-3 EXP Shares
+3 Energy Retreival
hope i helped :D

Have you thought about putting in Reshiram EX instead of Entei EX?

I've considered it, but I like Entei EX for the energy retrieval. It can set up other benched pokemon nicely while dealing a decent amount of damage.

Should play a thicker line of Emboar. At least a 3-1-3 line.

-3 Exp. Share

+1-0-1 Emboar
+1 something else

It seems that everyone here is telling me that the Exp. Shares are not needed and I will certainly heed that advice and consider the Energy Retrievals and the thicker Emboar line.

Much appreciated all.

I will not update the decklist just yet as I have not tested it. Once I've tested it, I'll edit.

I was just asking because somebody at my local league plays ReshiBoar EX w/ Blaziken, and I usually beat him with my straight ReshiBoar EX. It's hard to set up 2 stage 2 pokemon in any deck, but if your deck works in playtesting, I salute you for using Emboar. :)

Also, you may want to consider cutting Professor Juniper before EXP Share. With 2 Stage 2 lines, you'll nearly always discard something you need for an evolution with your Juniper, unless you play it late game after you've accelerated energy onto your pokemon from Emboar.

Overall, I would say:

(Maybe) add pokemon communication + Heavy Ball. Heavy ball can search out Pignite, Emboar, and if you ever do try it in testing, Reshiram EX. However, I will admit, you would need to make big changes in your deck to put in Reshi. He needs Needs NEEDS Eviolite for his second attack, usually an equal number of Reshirams and Eviolites work, then at minimum you would need to add 6 cards.

Get rid of Juniper. It's fine to run maybe 1 or 2 if you have 1 stage 2 line, but with 2 stage 2 lines, I would stay away from it. In it's place you could add Cheren or Bianca. I personally prefer Cheren in Emboar decks, but once again it's up to personal preference.

(Maybe)Get rid of Random Receiver. With 2 Cilan in your deck, it'll sometimes pop up with your RR, which could leave you with a useless supporter when you need to set up early game. Now, I understand late game you may want to find ANY supporter, including Cilan if you have your Emboar set up, but Cilan isn't an absolutely neccessary card in most situations. Once again, I would add either Cheren or Bianca in Random Receiver's place, just because they're both good draw supporters for this upcoming format.

You know, I just wanted to use a pokemon that hits for a big amount...as I'm fairly new to this game, I just realized Reshiram EX's 150 hit for 4 energies...which can easily be set up with Emboar.

I might consider just switching to Reshiram EX/Emboar...do you have a list I could use as a base? or would you mind me copying it at all? (assuming it is not illegal to post such things on here, but if it is, could you pm it to me?)

After further testing, the most viable build I've built is now updated in the deck list above. This is after trying out 4 different builds and repeatedly playing against the following decks:

Garchomp/Altaria
Darkrai/Tornadus/Mewtwo
Entei/Volcarona/Heatmor

I actually highly enjoy this deck, dont go to Reshiram/Emboar please.

sure this deck (has a chance) but prob isnt going to win any tournys or worlds or nothing, but neither will Reshi/Boar, so stick with this one untill you decide to get all Serious and NetDeck some BS for a tourny.

It looks cool, its a little different then everyone else and best of all it does work.
Build it, Use it, Tweek it, Have fun.

Changes:

4 Ultra Balls (2 and 2 Pokemon Communications)
2-3 Level Balls

Reason: Use Ultras for the EX and Stage 2, Use Levels for the Basics and Stage 1s
this should be enough. no need for Level, Ultra and Heavy. I get "i dont wanna use to many Ultras due to dropping cards in discard" but play it smart with the discards and you should be fine. If this doesnt appearl to you, then i understand, but its my 2 cents on the matter.

Rayquaza-EX when its out should drop into this nicely, i see you testing bs Gartaria (my name, i prefer it for Garchomp/Altaria) add in 3 Lighting Energys. (dont use Prisms due to Hammers being a little more used soon/now)

-1 Random Receiver, its just me, i personally dont like or see the point in this card and the last thing you want is "need catcher to win" play RR get Cilen

+1 Pokemon Catcher, again this is just me, every deck in my head needs 4 Catchers, although its been and will be proven time and time again you can win with 3 or maybe one day even less.

+? Bianca, played the normal Reshi/Boar for like 6 months, Bianca is almost a must have in it.

but again, cool deck, stick with it, build a 2nd deck if you want something else and just keep this going in normal raritys (no reverses or full arts) to keep its cost low.

Deck list updated.

Tried out your changes. Removing RR actually hurt me a lot. There are times RR has saved me.

Bianca is good, but not sure in here. I'm limited on space. Maxing N is solid, 3 Junipers is fine as is, and I cut down to 1 Cilan only.

I added a 3rd Ultra Ball for consistency and took out a Heavy Ball. That worked wonders. Pokemon Communication is good, but requiring a pokemon in hand doesn't tend to happen often. I'm not dropping every pokemon on the bench of course, but I'd rather ultra ball. It's easier.

I also added in a 3rd Energy Retrieval for immediate value. It's pretty good to Ultra Ball discarding 2 Fire Energies just to retrieve them back.
