Ruling Blend Energy + Energy Rushing?

Hello, I ask forgiveness if this question has been posted. I am looking at the Blend Energy cards from Dragons Exalted. I am new to the metagame (having not played the game in a decade.) I would like to confirm the ruling on the Blend Energy cards. Do the Blend Energy cards count as the energy types list when in your hand or deck?

For example:

Blastoise's ability allows for additional Water Energy to be attached during the turn. Would the "Water" Blend Energy be a valid play using Blastoise's ability?

For example:

Virizion-ex's attack allows for additional Grass Energy to be fetched from the player's deck. Would the "Grass" Blend Energy be a valid play using Virizion-ex's attack?

The 2 energy cards may not be put into play via Blastoise's Deluge or Virizion's Emerald Slash.

Until the cards are in play and attached to a pokemon, Blend Energy WLFM and GRPD only provide colorless energy. They do not provide any other kind of energy until, as specified on the cards, they are "attached to a Pokemon." At any other time (so like when the cards are in your Hand or Deck) "This card provides Colorless energy"

In opposition to a Colress Machine being used to fetch a Plasma Energy, where the Energy is being fetched based upon its name, these attacks and abilities are based upon the Energy types the cards are providing while in play only? The name of basic Energy although not written on the cards are all clearly defined. The Blend Energy cards each clearly list four different types in their names so should that not count as the name of the card? (The name consisting of all symbols becomes pointless and strange at that point.) Additionally, the attacks and abilities of these types of energy rushing cards do not specify that they are limited to Basic Energy.

Blend Energy specifically says on the card this card provides * energy. When it is attached to a Pokemon it provides the different types.~KA

To reiterate TPO3's post; If you look just a little closer at the Blend Energy the card says "This card provides <colorless> Energy. When this card is attached to a Pokemon, this card provides <G>, <R>,<P>, or <D> Energy..." While it may say "Blend Energy <G><R><P><D>, It is NOT any of those UNTIL it is attached to a pokemon.

I would like to thank-you all for the promptness in your answers. I appreciate it.

At this point, I understand the rulings with regard to the Blend Energy. For my own clarification, I would like to ask one more question regarding the language used in the game. I would like to return to the Blastoise card previously referenced.

What is the specific definition of what a "<W> Energy card" is? Another way for me to ask this same question is to ask which of the following two closes matches the official ruling on what this terminology is short for:
a.) a Basic Water Energy card
b.) an Energy card (including special) that provides Water energy

(Thanks again. I am coming over from Magic: The Gathering where I am used to the 200 page Comprehensive Rulebook sitting around the table.)

You are correct in that there is a distinction between (w) energy and (w) energy card. When it says "card" it means the basic energy card, and when it says (w) energy it refers to any card providing that type of energy.

To sum up:

~Blastoise's Deluge and Virizion-EX's Emerald Slash cannot attach Blend Energies. Blend Energies provide {C} Energy when outside play, and only grant effects when attached to a Pokemon. You would have to attach basic {W} or {G} Energies.

~Blastoise's Hydro Pump does power up from Blend WLFM Energies. They are attached to a Pokemon, and thus provide {W} Energy (along with the other types). Virizion-EX's Verdant Wind ability also will protect Pokemon with Blend GRPD attached, since while attached it does provide {G} Energy (along with the other types).

~Colress Machine is looking for the name of the card, 'Plasma Energy'. It can be searched and attached from the deck. ('Plasma' is not a type/element of Energy, however - the card 'Plasma Energy' provides {C} Energy.)
