I personally have found that the more the Booster Packs weigh the better cards it will bring (ex's or 2 foils per pack). I just want to know if anyone else has had this experience or any other methods they use to determine if the pack is good or not.
 
well, it might be because Holo's weigh slighty more due to its extra layer. It probably won't help you though, your local card shop probably isn't going to wait around while you measure with some extremely accurate scales.
 
I really don't know why people say they can feel the difference in weight between an average pack and one with an Ex. The foil layer probably adds an extra 0.00001g to the actual card, there would be no way a scale or human could recognise that difference. You'd have to buy one of those really sensitive electric scales that measure in micrograms or something, but then again the difference in weight might be a little extra of the booster wrapping rather than a holo inside...

well when i was in yu-gi-oh people would just buy like 20 packs weigh em' with a drug scale and return the ones w/o holos because yugioh holos r worth way more coz only 1 in every 6 packs would have a holo.but since i don't have 1 of those a riskier way of detecting holos would be by shaking the packs and the ones that slid more usually had holos, again works better with yugioh but it worked for me :D
 
Roy 747 - In Yu-Gi_Oh!? It's never worked for me.

Pokemon I usually can tell a difference in weight but that's when I buy from Wal-Mart or other retail stores. I've never bought a single pack from my local game shop due to the fact that if I know this I'm pretty sure the owner does the same thing, and also I've never heard of anyone pulling an ex from his store. And somehow he has almost every single ex in existence, coincidence?

Thats totally opposite to the one I go to I have been there 9 Times (live very far away and my parents hate taking me there)and almost always have gotten an ex.
 
well, it's extremely hard to tell through weighting the boosters

but u can try press the booster, some ppls said that hard ones brings u RH/ EX
 
It was true that the holos weighed more marginally (about the time of Neo). However, It doesnt always work now (especially at Walmart/Target (they put their packs into a package, making it harder to weigh)).
