This is a deck that has a really good early and late game.

Pokemon: (21)

  • 4-4-4 Butterfree line(All from Flashfire)
    4 Miltank FLF
    2 Virizion EX PLB
    2 Shaymin EX
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: (27)

  • 4 Ultra Ball
    3 Professor's letter
    4 Muscle Band
    1 Tool Retreiver
    1 Master Ball
    1 Startling Megaphone
    4 HypnoToxic Laser
4 N (Yes, their still legal)
    4 Professor Juniper
    2 Virbank Gym
Energy: (10)

  • 4 Herbal Energy
    6 Grass Energy
Strategy: Get Miltank ASAP. Then use Ultra Ball and N or Juniper to get a turn 1 Butterfree. Eventually, Miltank won't do enough and then you start using Virizion to set up Miltank, Genesect, and maybe Butterfree(You shouldn't. Only is you depend on it.) Then use Genesect and Miltank to sweep.

Edited to coincide with the rules! :D ~Kecleon

RE: (BRC-On) Buttermilk

I think that you should consider the fact that Herbal Energy cannot be accelerated from the deck with Virizion's attack, and that you can't even attach them to Miltank. Also, I know you chose Butterfree so that you could hit hard with Powerful Friends first turn, but my friend mentioned playing around with Shiftry as a potential partner for Miltank. You wouldn't be able to get it into play T1, but then again, if you are going first, you wouldn't be able to use Powerful Friends anyways. And Shiftry's Ability really allows you to be less reliant on what's in your hand, which is good because you only play 6 Supporters (which is way below average). The attack can also be really great as well, although it does require a Grass and a DCE.

RE: (BRC-On) Buttermilk

If you want buttermilk, I say go buttermilk. I don't really like the Genesect in here; you lose your commitment to the core strategy I feel. You'll want some more item-based draw, like bicycles, and you want 4 ultra ball. Here's a rough change list:

-2 Genesect EX
-2 Proffessor's Letter
-1 G Booster
-1 Tool Retriever
-1 Startling Megaphone
-4 Plasma Energy
-4 Herbal Energy
-15

+1 Shaymin EX
+1 Ultra Ball
+2 Skyla
+2 DCE
+4 Bicycle
+1 Professor Juniper
+1 N
+1 Basic Grass
+1 Sacred Ash
+1 Computer Search
+15

This'll give you that crazy blitz for tons of damage effect, and Shaymin EX is a more energy-efficient cleaner than Genesect. Virizion is entirely there for the ability. Reply if you have any questions about the suggestions.

RE: (BRC-On) Buttermilk

Shiftry works really well with Miltank. I built a pretty decent deck. Its consistent with leaf draw and it hits pretty hard.

RE: (BRC-On) Buttermilk

Virizion EX PLB is just so expensive. Are there viable alternatives to Virizion EX that do a similar thing for this deck?

Shaymin EX with it's Synthesis attack is very useful in getting the few energy cards out but at the cost of exposing a weak, low HP EX as the active card which awards double prizes. I'm not sure I can see the risk/reward as worth it. Am I missing something?

@ Ivy_Profen, can you please explain the synergy between Shrifty and Miltank? I can see the usefulness of drawing cards from an ability, but the energy is in such short supply in this deck with no way to retrieve it from the discard pile.

RE: (BRC-On) Buttermilk

Virizion EX is not necessary in the deck to accelerate energy. It is in the deck because of its verdent wind ability which makes you imune to special conditions (Poision, Paraylsys, Confused, Burned, Asleep).

With shiftry you would then want more Virizion EX to accelerate the grass energy onto the shiftrys. Miltank only needs one energy attachment to do anything.

Take the shaymin EX out of the deck, in my opinnion it is just a target for an easy 2 prizes.

In terms of Energy Acceleration for Grass:

Virizion EX > Victini EX > Flygon > Blastoise > Emboar > Eelektrik > Colress Maching > Ether > Double Rainbow > manual attachments > derp > Shaymin EX

Seriously, don't use Shaymin EX for Energy Acceleration. It's that bad. Victini is probably your best bet. It suffers the same problems as Shaymin EX, but it's much more versatile since it can give you two Energies and of any type.

It's the same thing as Miltank Empoleon basically. Miltank get's the attack boost from having a Stage 2 Pokemon in play, and Shiftry provides good draw with his Ability and a much more powerful attack. I still prefer Empoleon though simply because it can take advantage of Exeggcute to Diving Draw essentially for free, and the damage output is still very good with Dusknoir.
