Cars!!!

My friend loves the Bugatti Veyron. My dream cars are:
Ferrari Enzo
Rolls Royce Phantom
Mercedes SLR McLaren
Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
Original Hummer H1

Yeah. But with all the crazy drivers, getting in a crash, the Hummer's gonna be like "who threw that pebble!"

lol isnt the original Hummer used as army vehicles now in Iraq?

Yes it is. But in the army they call it a "Humvee". I don't know why but I know the Hummer was originally an army vehicle.

I think fords are really comfy and reliable in the price range.
I don't want a supercar you don't use properly unless i am really rich when im older.

I dont understand why you all want these lame Exodic cars.

Whats the point of having that fancy Audi? Sure it can do like 160 MPH, but where in the USA are you going to be able to do that? Legally that is.

Same statment for Lambo's and other fancy cars.
Where is your love for the classic American Muscle?

I myself prefer cars of pure torque or power. The ability to accelerate very quickly is great. Cause while I cant legally drive Fast, I CAN legally accelerate fast.
Plus, muscle cars are safer then those new cars. They have a solid steel frame instead of lame fiberglass.

Lol that's funny, driving home from church the other day I saw a Lambourghini Diablo V12. I thought it was cool, but Lambourghini's, if anything, are a waste of money especially since they depreciate so quickly.

I would want those ridiculous supercars because they are ridiculously fast in almost every aspect, super rare, and those don't depreciate as long as you keep it really clean. But honsetly, I love American muscle like my dad's car (which ironically, it's an american model cobra that was made in South Africa o_O). It's 0-60 in 3.0 and he's gone about 115 mph on the freeway with it. Bad part was that it's a convertible...:D

1 downside to American muscle cars, though, is the horrible gas mileage. Challengers and Chargers probably get ~15 mpg which isn't horrible but my dad's average is like 9.

^Another problem with American cars is that they don't corner at all. I mean you come up to a shickane and you're off the road all of the sudden.

For me it's:
- Aston Martin DBS
- Maserati Quattroporte
- Pagani Zonda F (Salute to Richard Hammond)
- Caparo TI (Naught to 60: 2.7 seconds)

Oh I know what you mean. Their Gas milage IS horrible. Especially like how my dad's was.

Back in the day, he would race with them at his local race track.
He had a truck axel on the back wheels and ran a special type of gas that is not avalible anymore...

He got like 3 MPG. lol However, he had the fastest car in college.

Wrong. A modern space frame is way more safe, than a frame. Metal without crumple zones transfers energy, plastic shatters thereby releasing the energy of the accident. The old frame cars are difficult to take an alignment after the frame is bent. Modern cars it is not an issue. I work in the collision repair industry.

Not all, the just the front wheel drive ones. With a rear wheel drive car you can brake into the turn and accelerate out of it. If you try that with a front wheel drive car, the rear since it is just trailing and not pushing, will break free. It happened to me once. Once was enough.

These performance cars that everyone is listing, while fast in good weather conditions, can become helpless in the weather.

^Oh come on. Newer cars with Fiberglass bodies are much more fragile. Our Saab we had for example is just a fiberglass shell on its base. The body will be destroyed if we got into a severe crash.
I agree with you that the metal frames are nearly impossible to bend back, but they are safe still. There was little on those cars made of plastic. Only the dash board etc was plastic.

And about the cornering comments;
A muscle car CAN corner just fine. If you set up the suspention correctly, you can drift with one. Its not just a movie stunt. (I wouldnt advise it though)

shadoworganoid, Do you want the car to survive or do you want the person to survive? Yes your Saab was destroyed, but the destruction dissipated the energy of the accident. It is the same reason eggs are packed in crush-able materials and not rigid materials.

Oh I see what you mean.

I see your age there, I know that Im talking to an adult. lol However, I am going to give you a childish response; I would rather my car be safe(r) and take my chances. lol

If I got my hands on my dream muscle car, that car would be my LIFE. lol

The old cars were sturdy, but I suppose they didnt have air bags. I know they didnt have shoulder straps either.
My car would have both. Therefore, its safer then a new car.

We are all entitled to our own opinions. I like new cars. I know they are safer. I like their options. I have seen the problems in locating parts for older cars and I don't want any part of it. You enjoy old cars. Good for you. Have fun. Some of the old cars were true icons.

Dont get me wrong, I love new cars too. I would love to get the new 2009 or 2010 (whichever year it was) Challenger. It looks so much like the original, only updated with all the modern bells and whistles.

Fuel effitiency, Safety, less polution, and other great stuff.

And I guess thats a good thing too. Cause finding an OLD muscle car will be SUPER hard.

You should see the 66 corvette in the shop for restoration. The owner of the car is scraping the bottom of the barrel to own one.

LOl my dad's cobra is a muscle car and it's turning is better than his old Supercharged Lotus Exige S. My dad said that if he ever took it to the track, he'd get about 4 mpg :D, so ya, muscle cars = horrible mileage.

@ Shadoworganoid,

Exotic cars totally beat American muscle cars. They have much more class and they just drive better.

Im pretty sure you can do 160 in a muscle car aswell :/

Im pretty sure that a lambo can do 0-60 faster than most muscles. So your arguement about acceleration is flawed :)

As said before, muscle cars arent necessarily safe cuz their made of metal LOOOOOL.

List Of Top Ten fastest acceleration from producttion cars:

The Year is listed on the left, followed by the car, then by the time from not to sixty

1.02 Lingenfelter Chevrolet Corvette 0-60 mph 1.97 Quarter mile 9.1
2.02 Viper Hennessey Venom 1000TT 0-60 mph 2.2 Quarter mile 9.4
3.06 Buggati Veyron EB16.4 0-60 mph 2.7 Quarter mile 10.7
4.08 Ariel Atom 500 0-60 mph 2.8
5.06 Mosler MT900 S 0-60 mph 3.0 Quarter mile 10.9
6.06 Koenigsegg CCR 0-60 mph 3.1 Quarter mile 10.7
7.09 Nissan GT-R 0-60 mph 3.2 Quarter mile 11.4
8.07 Noble M400 0-60 mph 3.2 Quarter mile 11.6
9.02 Ferrari Enzo 0-60 mph 3.3 Quarter mile 11.2
10.97 McLaren F1 0-60 mph 3.3 Quarter mile 11.5

How many of these are muscle cars.... :/

1 and it got number 1. But that's sweet my dad's car ranks number 5.5:D. (although it's not really stock). But I was with my dad looking up specs on the new lambo's and such and they lose because of their mass compared to my dad's car. The typical lambo is anywhere from 3-4000 pounds while my dad's car racks in only 2400 with 518 HP and 472 lb-ft of torque.
