Cat Summoned to Court

That cat isn't quite 18 years of age, I'm sure >>

You forgot cat years. Well over 18 I would expect. XD

dmaster out.

...But would cat years matter? It's a shorter period of time. Especially with the whole low animal IQ thing d:

Oh yeah I saw this the other day on the news. It has to do with a census mistake gone wrong. The owners are trying everything they can to get the cats name removed but so far it has not worked. I laughed when I saw this on the news. I meant to make a thread and forgot about it too.:)

I ROFL'd at this story.

I really wonder why the jury commissioner would actually let a cat go to jury... 0_o

And for the record you can't actually measure the IQ of animals as IQ tests are made specifically for people .-.

The jury commissioner probably didn't know it was a cat.
Since the lady put it down as not knowing english.

The more I think about this, the more I think this a publicity stunt. In my state, to get get called for jury duty, you have to be a registered voter. You just can't accidentally register to vote.

When I first saw this, I thought that someone had sued a cat, and was about to go on a rant on how people are too sue-happy.

Now that I have read the article, I will agree with dmaster. It's comical, but it is also stupid and sad. The guy that denied the request just lacks common sense. How is a cat supposed to "say" "Guilty" or "Not Guilty", let alone actually consider the evidence for the court cases?

Nevertheless, I would still like to see how this will turn out. It would be amusing to have a cat in court....

lol, we just can't have cats roaming on the streets can we now.

That's crazy.

I feel sorry for the cat. What if they actually have to bring it into the courthouse, and it jumps away and gets lost? :(

There was a similar story where a woman had her dog sign her tax forms and she went to jail for fraud. She had her dog sign with a paw print too.:)

I saw this on the news a few nights ago and it had me rolling. How can you have a cat serve in a jury? Let alone have the cat stay still long enough to be apart of the process.

Guys it is a Census mistake and they don't believe the owner at all and said the cat has to come to court anyway. He/she has tried everything and it is no good.:)

I don't think it is a mistake of the Census. The most common way to be called for jury duty is to be a license driver or registered voter.
