This article is to discuss the newly released Celebi prime. I think Celebi will be a great addition to many decks including: Luxchomp, Dialgachomp, Machamp, and others look to counter evolution decks. In a good SP build Celebi can be powered up in one turn, given the combination of an attach, Celebi's power, and then a Galactic Switch.

Why would this matter, you may ask, well consider this; you are facing a Gyarados deck (assuming they don't run mew prime tech) and you are struggling to keep any Pokémon alive because he is hitting for 110 (with a belt) “the magic number” as I like to call it, to kill SP Pokémon; so what do you do, send out your Celebi and that big bad Gyarados can touch you. The same goes for SPs disfavored mach-up against Donphan Prime, once Celebi gets powered up that big bad Donphan can't hit you anymore. I have also found it to be an interesting tech in a Machamp SF deck when I faced it one day at leagues. Since Celebi prevents attacks from evolved Pokémon, and Machamp takes out Basic Pokémon, (required in my scenario to KO the Celebi) I always found myself trading prizes until one of us broke the cycle via warp point, cyclone energy, Bright Look etc...

I think Celebi will finally make a name for its self in this Meta, it may not be a perfect card but it will keep the Meta interesting. I could be dead wrong, if you disagree with me feel free to post your issues with it.

EDIT: Please read the Player's Sandbox before posting. I added the link. ~EspeonROX.

RE: Celebi not just a wimpy fary any more???

take out from machamp is an effect not damage, so celebi would still be KOed. However, it is useful in most matchups, so he is pretty decent.

Dies to Macheap from an effect, dies to Gengar from an effect, and Gyarados can kill it with Sableye. I really don't see it being that great.

What is macheap afraid of that celebi doesn't lose to in the first place?

RE: Celebi not just a wimpy fary any more???

Machamp loses to any Evolution deck namily: G-dose, Jumpluff, Donphan, Garchomp SV etc...

RE: Celebi not just a wimpy fary any more???

Just so you know, it's a little short, and has no scans, so I wouldn't count this as an article.

However, I think Celebi Prime in Machamp is a little weird. Celebi needs 2 different types of energy to attack.

RE: Celebi not just a wimpy fary any more???

I know but he is on of the best player in my legue and he won 6/6 full 6 prize games 10/10 if you count donkd W/ machamp, I couldn't find a way to put a scan if you could help me that would be much appreciated.

RE: Celebi not just a wimpy fary any more???

Macheap doesn't fare well versus evo decks, and most kill Celebi just as fair. G-dos hits with Sableye, Jumpluff stalls it out 'til we pull off Uxie+Uxie X for 2-1 prize advantage and does it again [isn't Jumpluff dead anyways?], Donphan is able to be patient while it whips out some Uxie or a Phanpy for Rage because you're only doing 10 a turn, and that's being removed by Hunter, and Garchomp SV can play anything, so I haven't a clue what it'd use.

Isn't it kinda strange to play multiples of 3 types of energy in an evo deck?

@ L_X_F
I can ask the dude at my legue for his list, but it was the first time ANYONE had seen it played at legues so, just that surprise facto is what helps. Just try to play around it is a lot harder than you think when you aren't prepaired for it.
