Margaret Thatcher: RIP

So, a few days ago, the Iron Lady passed away. She was acceptably one of the greatest politicians of the 20th century and the fact that she was a woman makes her feats even more phenomenal in a political scene dominated by men. RIP.

RE: Margaret Thatcher: RIP

"Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead" Is at number 3 on the charts here in the UK, last I checked. And they are forced to only play a few seconds in an explanation as to why they can't air it on radio.
Basically damn gummint censoring a good song.

RE: Margaret Thatcher: RIP

We need a stern strict leader. Look at our leader and politicians now, seems like a fools game.

What?

I'm familiar ;^) with his writing after watching the movies.

Lou Reed just passed away yesterday at the age of 71, I have several of his songs in my iTunes library which includes "Walk On The Wild Side", "Sweet Jane", and even a song from his old band known as The Velvet Underground. He made a great contribution to the music industry and he'll be missed.

RE: Celebrity Deaths Thread - Tom Clancy

Yeah, Lou Reed was a well-known face. I hated the album he wrote with Metallica, but apart from that RIP. He'll be missed.

RE: Celebrity Deaths Thread - Tom Clancy

Besides Lou Reed, Marcia Wallace died. "But it was her Emmy-winning role as Edna Krabappel, Bart Simpson's teacher with the snarky laugh, that may have earned her the most fame in recent years. It was a part she held since the show's premiere in 1990."

RE: Celebrity Deaths Thread - Lou Reed

Actor Paul Walker, known to most as Brian O' Connor from The Fast And The Furious movies died yesterday. Ironically enough, he died in a car accident. He was a known face, and he also had a young daughter. He'll be missed by many. R.I.P.

RE: Celebrity Deaths Thread - Paul Walker

Nelson Mandela just died at age 95 today in his home. He was known for being a civil rights activist and was the first black South African president. He also won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993.

Whoa. Didn't even realize that happened yet, even though I did watch the news just a few minutes ago. :0

I have some great respect towards that guy. May he rest in peace.

Peter O'Toole died on Saturday, December 14. The famous Irish actor was 81. His long list of filmography includes Lawrence of Arabia (1962), How to Steal a Million (1966) (one of my favorite movies ever), Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1969), and Troy (2004). He was an 8-times Academy Award nominee --the most-nominated actor to never win the award.

You did not mention
Tom Laughlin
Joan Fontaine
Yeah, I just heard about Joan Fontaine's death, but I have never heard of Tom Laughlin --he seems to have been in westerns. I mentioned Peter O'Toole because more people might know who he is.
