CELIO'S DOESN"T WORK!!

I have seen many people say (and I used to say it as well.) Celio's works for Pokemon Lv. X. But...I made a shocking discovery. Open up to page 22 in a DP/MT/SW rulebook (You get these with the theme decks.) and let's take a look:

Appendix A: Pokemon Lv. X


Special Rules for Pokemon Lv. X.

(Skip down to Paragraph 5.)

...., Pokemon Lv. X is not considered an Evoultion card.

Let's take a look at Celio's:

Search your deck for a Basic Pokemon or an Evoution card, (Excluding pokemon-ex.) show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward.


If you read the parts I bolded, you would see that Celio's does not work for Pokemon Lv. X.

Do you agree or disagree?

I disagree, because one of the new diamond and pearl rulings was, the phrase "basic pokemon or evolution card" now just means pokemon. They did this so older trainers could search for pokemon lv. x. If you look at pokeball from diamond and pearl, it says search for a pokemon, and a prior version of pokeball, which counts as a reprit says to search your deck for a "basic pokemon or evolution card". I'm not sure if this ruling is in your rulebook, but it was on the official pokemon website, however you're right in saying pokemon lv. x are not evolution cards.

i totally agree ^ .Check the rules of POP read first the card . so dnt say something that is not true .

Celio's Network is in old wording. The wording now would be "Search for a Pokemon Card", like Bebe's Search does.

In the rulebook, flip back to some of the last pages and it shows before and after charts of the rules. The lv.X searching rule states that a CARD must say Basic or Evolution to get a Lv.X...

You can't evolve a prinplup into Empoleon Lv. X >.>. As said by LC, any card that says Basic or Evolution card has been officially errated, The text now say "Pokemon card". So it can search out a Lv.X.

Still can't get an ex though.

Celio's can get Pokemon Lv.X because PUI says it can.
