Hello Pokebeach! Today in my first ever post i will be describing to you about my experience in my first ever master tournament(local).
So at first i was thinking of which deck i should play. I was really(yes) inclined towards hammertime, as there is a rise in klinklang decks(i.e. John Roberts II won Nationals with it), but it lacked GOOD energy acceleration and energy switch was too risky with this deck(surprise terrakion destroys this), so i looked online and found Kevin Nance's decklist for his Mewtwo/Eelektrik deck and i realized at once what i was going to play for the upcoming tournament.
So i arrive at the tournament just in time, i register, and i wait for the senior roster to come up. I look at it and, WAIT I'M NOT THERE!? So i tell the judges that they forgot to put my name on the roster and thats when i hear it. They tell me that i've "manned up" and am ready to play at the "big boy table". I was a master!!! I don't believe them but their proof lies on the masters' roster: MY NAME. Also my friend Matias was upped and neither of us were too happy about it. But we couldnt complain for long because round one had just started!
Round 1. Vs Alexis w/ Darkrai Zoroark
He wins the coin flip and he starts off darkrai to my mewtwo. Then he gets out his mewtwo and by turn two knocks out my mewtwo. I soon respond with my own mewtwo and N and from there the game goes downhill in my favor.

Round 2. Vs Jose w/ Empoleon Terrakion Excadrill
He gets tired and decides to scoop after i've taken 3 prizes. Oh Well.

Round 3. Vs Kevin w/ Zekrom Eelektrik
He wins the flip so he gets to set up tynamos first. Also he promoted his terrakion early game so that helped him in taking most of my eel prizes along with winning the mewtwo war.

Round 4. Vs Chris w/ Zekrom Eelektrik
He starts mewtwo. I start tynamo. He wins the flip. He DOUBLE ULTRA BALLS AND N'S! But he whiffs the dce to win the donk. So from there i get set up and it all goes downhill for him.

Round 5. Vs Tony w/ Darkrai Terrakion
I start mewtwo and he can never use a supporter or take one prize card. I 6-0 him with mewtwo/terrakion.

I did it! i made top 4 and am seeded at 3rd! I look to see who i am facing next... my friend Matias who like me, upped to masters.
Top 4. Vs Matias w/ Darkrai Mewtwo Tornadus
Game 1. I get an amazing setup with terrakion active and take 5 prizes and my last with zekrom. 1-0
Game 2. Me and Matias equal the prize exchange until he retreats his darkrai, energy switches(???), and max potion's his damaged darkrai with eviolite and dark patches again and snipes my terrakion and an eel. 1-1
Game 3. We both start out mewtwo but unfortunately for me i can never set up eels due to his darkrai. And to top it off, terrakion was prized. 1-2
Oh well, my run in this tournament is over, but i certainly had a blast in my first ever masters tournament ever! Congrats to Matias who went on the win the tournament!
