ChariBoar (Charizard/Emboar deck)

Labaru

I like Tangelas.
Member
Main Deck

Pokémon

3-1-3x Charizard (FS10-FS11-FS12)
3-1-3x Emboar (PromoBW07-BW17-BW20)
2x Darkrai EX (DEX63)
2x Reshiram (BW26)

Subtotal: 18

T/S/S

4x Rare Candy (DEX100)
3x Energy Retreival (BW92)
1x Super Rod (NV95)
3x Ultra Ball (DEX102)
1x Computer Search (IB98)
4x Catcher (EP95)
2x Switch (BW104)
3x N (DEX96)
3x Bianca (EP90)
2x Junniper (DEX98)
2x Skyla (IB56)

Subtotal: 28

Energy

7x Fire Energy
3x Blend (F/D/G/P) (DRE118)
4x Double Colorless Energy (ND92)

Subtotal: 14

Strategy: Charizard is the main pokemon. 150 is a nice damage, it can OHKO Terrakion, Zekrom, Reshiram, even if they have Eviolite attached. Emboar is for energy acceleration, and Reshiram is the secundary attacker. Darkrai EX, great against Catchers.

Celebi Variant

Same Deck, but:

- 2 Darkrai EX (DEX63)
-1 Reshiram (BW26)
- 3 Blend Energy (DRE118)

+2 Celebi EX (IB04)
+1 Charmeleon (FS11)
+2 Fire Energy
+1 Switch (BW104)

Strategy: Charmander's "Draw In" and Charmeleon's "Rage Claws" are great attacks, and with Celebi, Charizard can use those attacks. It's a little slower than the Darkrai variation, but works pretty well.

RE: Charizard/Celebi EX

Yay, Charizard! Celebi isn't necessary, since typically you want to do 150 a turn, and Energy Retrieval makes up for this. Bianca>Hugh, almost always.
-2 Celebi
+2 Energy Retrieval
Empoleon (and water deck in general) will give you a hard time, so you should want to tech in something to beat it, maybe Reshiram-W w/ Prism?

I'll try, thx! ^^

Maybe remove the bicycles and put W-Kyurems instead?

RE: Charizard/Celebi EX

Bicycles are very nice, especialy in Emboar/Blastoise decks.
-1 Cilan
-1 Fire Energy
+2 Kyurem-W (or maybe 1, either works)

Hmm... how about a Mewtwo EX instead?

RE: Charizard

For Empoleon, they run Mew EX, maybe for other Water decks. Maybe run 1 Mewtwo and 1 Kyurem-W

RE: Charizard

Call it "ChariBoar"
That has a nice ring.
Also: Add in another catcher, take out an Ultra ball, with so many draw supporters, you could get some with Bike and Hugh/Bianca, I recommend Bianca, because a normal hand is 5-6, so you could let your oppenent draw cards.

Thanks, Hugh is out now. And I liked the name, it's good.

don't use Charizard in this deck.

Reshiram EX can't do damage on the Bench, and Charizard costs only 1 Prize.

And let's not forget the self damage.

Why no Junipers? I haven't gotten around to playing BW-on, but I imagine everything is considerably slower. And you're running two Stage 2's. What are your thoughts on Juniper?

I don't run Junipers on this deck because there's nothing but Energy Retreivals to use the discard pile. But i can try, Junisper IS a fast support. I'll try the Juniper version of this deck. If it works, i'll update the decklist. :D

I personally like running 4 cheren in Emobar decks instead of Bianca. This is because you always want to have a monster sized hand full of energy. I also don't like White and Black kyurem, but it's all up to your personal preference. Just remember that prism energies fon't count as fire energies while in your hand, so they can't be accelerated from Inferno Fandango. Also, I would recommend not running Juniper. You have 2 stage 2 lines, and you'll always end up discarding something you need for an evolution.

How about this:
-4 Bianca/+4 Cheren
-2 Bycicle/+2 Heavy Ball
-1 W-Kyurem/+1... something... any ideas?

I would actually take out all ultra balls and add in 3 more computer searches. Ultra ball limits you to searching for pokemon, while computer search is for any card. I don't know what else you really could add in, but off the top of my head... ether? Gold potion? I'm not sure about all the cards after DRE, but those 2 come to mind.

You can have only one Ace Spec per deck. Computer Search and Gold Potions are Ace Specs.

Cheren/Bianca is a matter of personal preference. I like Bicycle because you can Rare Candy Emboar, attach a ton of energy, bench stuff, and draw 4 cards from a trainer. You can get rid of W-Kyurem, but I think he is a very nice counter to Empoleon Decks that otherwise give you a lot of trouble

If you run bike, I think Bianca is the way to go, you might want a 2-2 though, It really depends how many cards in hand.
