Cheap yet decent decks?

I'm planning on getting into this game and have been bouncing around a couple ideas. The problem is that I'm worried about putting too much of an investment into a deck that won't do much good. Anything that's cheap, but fun and can win? Thanks in advance for feedback.

A Typhlosion deck with Ninetails and Charizard is a pretty decent deck. It has good attack and it's pretty cheap if you can find one. The Charizard's are pretty expensive though at $10 for each one, but their attack is awesome, so it's worth it. And welcome to Pokemon TCG!

Shuppet Donk, attach Pluspowers to Shuppet with a |P| then use Fade Out returning all energy and PP back into your hand. Overall it doesn't cost much. The most you'll spend for is Poketurn or Crobats at around 5$ each.

Most decks in this game are pretty cheap. I wouldn't put any deck (that doesn't use Luxray GL X) above $50. I know that I bought the main component to the deck that won nationals, Sablock, for a grand total of $10. The staples will be a tad bit more than you think they should be, but they're staples and won't change no matter which deck you're playing. This is nowhere near the prices of Yugioh and Magic.

I'd put Sableye + Garchomp C X as top spot. It is inexpensive and amazing. It will probably be good for another year and a bit. Deck is your best bet.

Scizrim is decent and very cheap. Most of the cards are less than $7 (or even less) and when it gets setup, it can do good damage quickly.

Like Zero said, Sabelock is arguably the BDIF and is one of the cheapest metagame decks out there. Sabeleye are around $5 so to speak and Garchomp C lv x is a tin lv x so it is easy and affordable. However if you are a new player, it isnt the best deck to get started with. It is hard to play with due to all the SP stuff and also doesnt go along with the traditional 'take six prizes and win'. It is just about donking and disrupting your opponent so much that they just scoop xD.

As said before, Sableye is your best bet. Super cheap, and easy to play. Really, any deck is relatively cheap, bust anything with Luxray GL Lv.X is pricey.

I have to say Donphan Prime is pretty cool, only because I love him, and I plug him in every thread. But he really is lots of fun.

Toxitank is a pretty cheap deck. The most expensive cards in it will be the SP stuff and the promocroak.

[sarcasm] luxchomp is definitely the cheapest if you run 2-2 luxray x.[/sarcasm]

But seriously, mightyena/skuntank is amazingly cheap, with the most expensive card in it being poke turn (if you choose to run it) or Broken Time Space.

add the vulpix and ninetails and call energy and this isnt a cheap deck at all.

if you consider the 80~150$ price tag on sablock to be inexpensive, go for it.

Otherwise Pokemon is not the game for you.

Shuppet is very cheap along with Sableye lock. As for something creative Mightytank? I don't see how all the cards in that deck could be worth more than like 15 dollars.

I have two Ninetails from HGSS and a holo one from Unleashed. They aren't very hard to get. I don't put Call Energy in my decks. They are pointless. If I want some basic Pokemon I'll use Pokemon Collector.

Have fun using Collector on the first turn of the game to avoid being donked...oh wait, you can't.

Yeah, have fun playing what will probably be the most popular deck this season thus far. Especially since it will be completely legal next year save for roseanne's and possibly moonlight. Call energy are the bane of sabelock, and even then, they have initiative.

Why on earth would I be so called "donked" first turn? Who the crud still puts Call Energy in their decks? I go rogue, in other words, I make decks by myself and I don't copy decks from Master's who have won the Worlds three times in a row. Beside's what if I'm not first? Even if I am, it's not like I don't have another turn. If I'm second, Pokemon Communication, Rare Candy, DCE energy, Expert Belt, kaboom, my Garchomp hit your Gastly Luxray GL Lv. X (which I don't play because of overpopularity in the metagame) and I hit your weak little Luxray for 60, and now I have 20+ HP and your attacks are reduced by 20. And now you can keep attacking me with Luxrays! Oh wait...you can't, because I KO'd them. Now get a life and stop spamming me. >:p

What we're trying to say is...sabelock is going to possibly be the most popular deck around because it won nationals. They ALWAYS go first if they start with sableye. It's a good possibility they start with crobat/poketurn/special dark so they can ko you. I use call in nearly all of my md-on decks because of the lack of roseanne's.

I think Scizor is a pretty cheap deck, and it's good for starting out. I'd go with Scizor (SF)/Cherrim (SF). If you want a skeleton list, PM me.
