Right now I have the following set up , which doesn't run smoothly at all.

Pokemon
  • 4 Chespin (XY base)
  • 3 Quilladin (XY base)
  • 3 Chesnaught (XY base)
  • 3 Chesnaught BREAK
  • 2 Treecko
  • 2 Grovyle
  • 2 Sceptile (Nurture and Heal ability)
  • 3 Trevenant EX
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums
  • 2 Switch
  • 1 Energy Retrieval
  • 1 Startling Megaphone
  • 3 VS Seeker
  • 1 Professor's Letter
  • 2 Heavy Ball
  • 2 Level Ball
  • 1 Ultra Ball
  • 2 Shauna
  • 2 Professor Sycamore
  • 2 Lysandre
  • 1 Pokemon Fan Club
  • 1 Wally
  • 1 Ace Trainer
  • 4 Forest of Giant Plants
Energy
  • 10 Grass Energy
  • 2 Double Colorless Energy
Strategy:

I want Chesnaught BREAK to be the main attacker and quickly get energy on him with Sceptile's ability. Trevenant EX is there as a good staller if I draw him first with its Dark Forest attack. Any ideas how to speed the deck up but at least keep Chesnaught BREAK as the main attacker?

I think this deck is slow, it needs a lot double colorless energy. And decks with xerosic and enhanced hammers is not good.
Here is what i shall do:
- startling megaphone
- 3 trevenant EX
- wally
- ace trainer
- energy retrieval
- pokemon fan club.
- 1 VS seeker. - 9 cards

+ 1 super rod
+ 2 shaymin EX
+ 2 level ball
+ 2 sycamore
+ 2 muscle band
Total: +9

This deck needs to have more of a focus. I understand that you want both Sceptile and Chesnaught in this deck since they work together pretty well. But the problem is that they take up too much space together and you need to find an alternative way to charge Chesnaught.

Im not sure it will work perfectly but you can try out some of these. Though they will probably still be pretty inconsistent. But better than Sceptile.
4-3 M Sceptile with 3 Spirit Links. Only a 1 stage Evolution and it fully heals as it attaches. A decent attacker in its own right. Still rather Clunky though.
2-2 Milotic FLF. This pokemon can attach 3 energy from the discard to one of your pokemon, though it costs you a prize.
3 Illumise PCL. It can attach an energy from the deck to a bench pokemon. Its more consistent as it only a basic. But it also has low hp and in general, will probably not make a huge impact on how fast you can charge your chesnaught.

Overall your deck needs more speed and consistency. Which means max sycamore, a couple of trainers mail, some shaymin, and 4 ultra ball. Miltank might be a nice addition as it only takes 1 energy to do 80.

I don't think this would work. Having a stage 3 and stage 2 in one deck is insane!

Forest of giant plants makes it so you can get chesnaught and chesnaught out turn one so you don't have to run rare candy or anything like archies or maxies, it makes it less of a task of getting it out becuase you don't have to reach for stuff.

Forest of Giant Plants helps, but that's still a lot of stuff to get into play, not to mention that it takes up a ton of space. Even with the Stadium, everything's still not going to just fall into place.

Thanks for all the help guys (Ivy_Profen you were a big help!),so far online and offline I have a lot more wins with this deck then my 1st edition. I think it still needs a few more tweaks. I know it won't win any league challenges , but I like to give people a fight using pokemon I like.

My new deck list:

Pokemon
  • 4 Chespin (XY base)
  • 3 Quilladin (XY base)
  • 3 Chesnaught (XY base)
  • 3 Chesnaught BREAK
  • 3 Illumise
  • 2 Shaymin EX
  • 1 Miltank
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums
  • 2 Switch
  • 1 Startling Megaphone
  • 2 VS Seeker
  • 1 Professor's Letter
  • 4 Ultra Ball
  • 4 Professor Sycamore
  • 2 Lysandre
  • 1 Pokemon Fan Club
  • 1 Super Rod
  • 1 Ace Trainer
  • 4 Forest of Giant Plants
  • 2 Trainer's Mail
  • 2 Muscle Band
Energy
  • 10 Grass Energy
  • 4 Double Colorless Energy
Strategy:

Start with Illumise confuse active defending pokemon then start using helping hand to add 1 grass energy to benched chespins keep it up til Illumise is knocked out. Thinking about taking Miltank out since Pokemon Break don't count as stage 2 pokemon.

If you don't like miltank. Then take it out and a forest of giant plants for a 1-1 line of milotic. You may not like giving up 1 prize. But it is well worth it. Also you don't always have to use it. It's a nice tech that you can pull out whenough you need it.

It allows chesnaught to get charged up in 1 turn from 3 energy in the discard and one from your hand.

If attacking that turn could win you the gsme. Wouldn't you want to do it?

Remember to update your deck list in the original post to reflect any changes you've made. Users might not read through the whole thread and post suggestions based on the first list regardless.

I would suggest running virision from AOR. You will be knocking out milotic so that puts you behind on prizes so you can hit for 120 for 2 and its first attack can bring back knocked out pokemon to your hand like chesnaugt so you can keep a nice stream going of chesnaughts.
