City Championships Metagame

Froslass bronzong is very good and could even beat amu and kingdra. so idk bronzong makes ur dusk/ gengar matchup so good.

^I doubt it. Kingdra is even faster than Frolass/Brozong and it easily 2HKO you while you have to 3/4 HKO it. AMU is just as fast and dangerous.

Unfortunately, those two have became became part of the minority.

Sorry but what is AMU
I think the game would be with:
Gengar
Kingdra
Machamp
Raichu
Gliscor

Top 4 in the first Dutch BR:
1. Machamp
2. Abomasnow (Yeah, I was surprised too)
3/4. Gengar
3/4. Dusknoir

^ That must have meant that in the semi-finals the guy with Machamp beat one of the psychic decks. I guess type didn't help there.

IIRC, the guy who played Abomasnow told me he beat Gengar, so that means the Machamp player beat the Dusknoir one. I'm guessing its because Dusknoir is slow on the setup. Gengar vs. Machamp would've been interesting to see.

FYI, I didn't attend. I'll bring some figures about the CC Sunday just to add to the topic.

BTW. It wasn't a guy with Machamp >.>

How many warps do you run in your kingdra? Your going to be asleep some times also and then bronzong comes and starts beating up your claydols and uxies.

I'm not sure what my metagame is to be honest. I've never played in any big tournaments before. I'll be attending my first Cities tournament on January 10th. :D

Good luck.

Well right now in N.E. our main three are
1. Champ (Not suprised)
2. Chu (Also not suprised)
3. Dusknoir (Wow I'm not suprised)

Our metagame has always been a little screwy and such. Word of a beastly Kabulocks with a Gastly start has been the talk around the Watercooler. I may be at a cities tomorrow and I'll tell you of that.

Biggest CC in Holland as of yet. Top 4:
1. Kingdra
2. Machamp
3/4. Gengar-Bronzong
3/4. Machamp

Who said Kingdra is dead? >.>

N.E Metagame (Just Amounts)
1 Zone (Top Cut)
3 Gigas (Top Cut)
3 Kingdra (Top Cut)
3 Raichu
6 Dusknoir
6 Gengar (Top Cut a lot)
2 T-Tar (Failed miserably for all)
2 Machamp
1 Kabulock
2 Obama
1 AMU

These are just the ones that I have seen and the ones that my friends have played/seen. We have seen almost all of the decks. Gengar is the big play, making Champ a hard to play card. Dusknoir and Gengar would have to be the most common overall. The rest of the metagame was rogue.

Don't you guys realize what you're doing? Most of you live in completely different parts of the world, so you will have a different Meta Game. There are no few decks that are going to see play. There might be only one Froslass player there, but that doesn't rule out the chance of you playing that person. Until Nats and Worlds, there is really no dominant deck. In my opinion, just be prepared for anything and don't focus on countering one or two decks.

What's in an "Obama" deck? I've never heard of it. :shy:

It does help to see which decks are more common then others. You can't POSSIBLY counter EVERYTHING, so its best to at least be able to counter the top played decks.

I don't believe all your numbers are correct there, sir. Obviously that was an estimation on your part, but just saying...In our Master's division I didn't see that many of some of the decks, or some at all, though I heard what was played (Our numbers are based on the one Cities we've been to thus far, and the Master's only had 28 people). This was probably the approximate ratio as opposed to exact numbers.

I think there will be absolutely NO METAGAME WHATSOEVER!

Seriously, people! We all know about the good ones, like Kingdra, Mario, T-TAr, an rougue decks around, but there are just so many good decks out, that None will be played more than the other. I just don't think there is going to be one. At least not for a while.

Very true... I did say at the bottom of that post, that those were the decks that I had seen, and the ones that my friends had played. So I got a little bit of seniors in there.

I took mainly the decks from the Masters, but it is also nice to know what Top cut seniors too. After a discussion with my brother I now have 3/4 of the Top Cuts of Masters and all from the Seniors. Not in any specific order. Although Gigas won Masters, again.

Seniors
Gigas
Cresselia Gengar
Tangrowth
Gengar

Masters
Kingdra
Gigas
