Claydol does not make a deck unorigional IMO it just draws the cards.

Well, Juliacoolo, you've got a point. But still. <_< I feel like it's like. Overused. You know? I don't know. I'm getting sort of sick of decks based around it.
D: I play Electric because I love electric pokemon. They are my passion, I love them, and I feel passion for them. But other people only like to play if they are good "combo" cards and such. I feel so bad for them, really.

That's why I don't like cards like Claydol--people who use them usually don't really actually care.

I actually agree with you on that. I don't like how fast and competitive the Meta is. It takes away the fun. When I was little, me and my friend used to have so much fun spending an hour or two on one game. We made sound effects, and knocked over the other card when it was out (Ah, such good memories). I'm not saying we should all act like 7 year olds, but some cards that standardize the game seem to make it less fun and laid back.

If you guys are done like debating you can lock the topic. o_o I just wanted a general idea as to why everyone uses it. I still don't understand why you can't win a game without a Claydol ["I use it because I like to win"..] because that's sort of really dumb. What kind of card player are you if you NEED a certain card to win a game always. I dunno. Just putting that out there.

To be honest, I'd bet you that 90% of the people who win tournaments wouldn't be playing if it weren't for how good of a game this is and the friends they make. People like that have fun when they win, they don't have fun playing a Pikachu deck and ending up 0-4. I would have been gone three years ago if I were playing for the cards. And about that opponent you had, while that was by no means nice it can be extremely boring playing a deck that never sets up or does anything (no offense). I see no reason in not running Claydol in decks that need it - 60 cards is a lot. You need to draw through them and you should have room for 4 cards. Don't take offense from this, it's my opinion.

So then most likely you are very lucky or you're playing people with very little skill (no offence). Unless of course you're running a deck that doesn't really need Claydol (not by your standards of needing Claydol, but my general standards).

Fuday K., you DID say everyone in your area that plays is 6-10. No offeese, but ususally that's the age group that sucks at the game so I'm not surprised you beat them and I highly doubt they run consistent decks with Claydol and enough trainers and not too much pokemon & energy.

But just watch me. Someday I'll be great, all without Claydol...

I like your self-confidece, and yeah, maybe you will be great without Claydol...If you use Uxie or when it gets rotated out.

I do have to say that cards like claydol create a metagame that is too fast for my taste. Draw supporters are useless when you have one sitting on your bench. I think that if you play in a league where most of the players are not competetive, using cards like claydol or uxie will ruin the experience. However, If you play in a more competetive area, cards like that can help you from being 0-X. JUst because a deck uses claydol or Uxie, does not mean it can't be original. Like gengar the baller said, It just draws the cards.
