Sure looks like it. There better be a pretty damn good reason behind that one. KG has done more for these forums than all of the current mods combined. With Pride and Limitless gone too it's a sorry day for those who still hold onto the vague belief that this forum will actually one day be free from the ignorance and arrogance that grips the moderation team.

Congrats guys. I honestly think PDC and TPO3 will make good mods. It's a shame that the value of your new position has been somewhat watered down by the sheer volume of other promotions and demotions, though. ;/
 
^I love the way that you can be so hilarious at some times, and dead serious but spot on in others. You are completely right. I also think that moderation has turned from somewhat of a rare treat to just a regular thing. Also, if the forums are closing, why would they appoint new mods? And why would WPM either close it in the next two days or not at all?
 
It's just that a lot of shuffling and changes have been going on recently within the staff. It's not that being modded is any less important. Some people have left us, (one in particular in a not so nice way) and some have joined us. Also, while the moderation team does have it's faults, (it's definitely not perfect) I do not think the whole team is ignorant or arrogant.

Congrats to all new of the new moderators! Looking forward to working with you. :)

Unless WPM already gave Steadfast permissions for doing that, it would have to be done by one of the other supermods. Congrats TPO3 and Alex.

The mod team certainly isn't ignorant. I missed that part! The team couldn't be much better, since everyone's very open and happy to help, and these new recruits will make great mods. But can someone please tell me why Kevin Garrett was permabanned?

Why is everyone getting either modded or permabanned? :/
The only two people I properly got to know before their permabans were Joeypals!! and chellochello.
 
12 year olds shouldn't be modded, KG needs to stop being a bitch (also not counter team because he can't win a fair game), grats to everyone else.
 
iirc, PDC is still 12. But his knowledge and maturity far surpass many other members of this site, and I think he deserves it. Congrats to all four of you!

Does it matter? He could easily pass as someone in high school.
 
Yeah, honestly, PDC is a lot more mature than plenty of members on this site. He totally deserved it.

...but I always knew he was 11 from others' bios.

I respectively disagree. When moderators are hired on a whim (I doubt PDC and friends would be modded without the other demotions) it's hard to see them as being anything other than expendable. I understand you also have the applications ready on standby, but if those are your main basis for determining mods then something is terribly wrong with the whole system as you're favouring forms over outright intuition and trust.

For those of you who are instantly jumping at KG, please think about the situation. KG has invested a ridiculous amount of time and effort into these forums. He was a mod, then a super mod, and after a hiatus where he was a regular member, became a mod yet again (back before positions weren't handed out like candy, that is). He spearheaded the VG strategist program, was instrumental in organising the PokeBeach Shoddy server, and revolutionised competitive battling on PokeBeach. Those are but a few things he's done here.

Does this sound like a guy who would resign without a very good reason?

And more to the point... What rule did KG break to deserve the ban?

Please don't disrespect a good member and certainly don't disrespect your own intelligence.
 
I don't know if anything has been leaked to you by KG, bacon, but he well deserves the ban. We didn't have applications we looked at when choosing mods, and in fact, many of those people had been thought about before all the resignations occurred, so they were not just on a whim. Yes, PDC is 12, but it's legal and he's very mature. I'm sure he can handle his position well and do a great job, along with all other moderators promoted :D
