or something. I don't know.
I'll try it if it's really that easy but I'm real afraid of messing something up.
Also, how easy is it to replace GBC cartridge batteries?
I get what you're saying - I have very unsteady hands myself and it can lead to trouble when it comes to things that require precision.

I haven't tried this, but maybe you could find a game or two that you don't care about and practice using it? If you don't have any, Amazon probably sells obscure Game Boy/Game Boy Advance games (among other things) for $4 (3.99 of that cost being shipping), or you could find cheap games at a pawn shop or off of Craigslist (be careful when using that site).

Good luck!

PC. Static Pressure. You'll still get dust, but not nearly as much. Invest in some thin, high quality filters too.

I have what I guess is a maintenance question for anyone here with a 3DS XL: when you turn on your system, how long does it take to load the home area? I ask because I think it might be taking the system longer to load than it used to, but I might also be imagining things. Does this tie in with the amount of digital downloads you have?

Thanks in advance!

My husband and I both have a 3DS with some downloaded content (PokéBank, a handful of games). Loading up either usually takes a few seconds, enough where I notice the lag, but not particular long (maybe 5 seconds?).

I have an absurd number of digital downloads since I started buying most of my games digitally recently, and I also have the entirety of the ambassador program. I've never noticed a correlation between that and the start-up time of the console--it rarely takes more than a few seconds for me anyway.

I counted mine and used an online timer, and my load time seems to be in the 8-9 second range - all I have on here are the default programs, Pokebank/transporter, the free Steel Diver game, and a lot of pictures. I don't abuse my system at all: in fact, I keep it in a rather nice case ( http://www.amazon.com/DreamGEAR-Nintendo-3DS-XL-Comfort-Grip/dp/B008XHCLFO/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1400837071&sr=8-7&keywords=3ds+xl+case ) and have screen protectors for the thing. From what Blah says, it doesn't seem like digital downloads increase system load time. I'm pretty sure that means my system is working normally, which is good because mine is the blue Pokemon version and I heard (forget from where, it's been a while) Nintendo doesn't always give you the same console you gave them for repairs, just whatever happens to be available.

I wonder if there is a difference between the 3DS and the 3DS XL in terms of loading speed. My niece has a 3DS, so maybe next time I see her I'll ask her about it.
