Would you say it is important for a child to learn cooking as a skill at a young age? I'd say so, helps in the future and can be used a social activity in the kitchen.

At my school, we have it for a subject in DT. Although we only have it for about 6 weeks since we have a special system.

It could be if your future wife is too lazy/bad at cooking food :p

Wow thats kinda mean. Its wrong to just assume that all women do the cooking.

To the main topic, yes I think its very important. Its important to be able to support yourself on your own. Its very unhealthy to rely on TV dinners and junk food for all your meals.
In fact, my senior graduation project was about cooking. And now to this date, I have cooked my family good chinese meals on a number of ocations.

It certainly is good to have. It will help you in college, as well as later in life. Women love food Its a great skill to learn overall I highly recommend it.

I loved to cook when I was a youngling. It's an important skill later in life, and just like all important skills - the earlier they are learnt, the better.

What kind of comment is that?

I cook at school as a subject, not that good at it; still enjoy it though. Outside of school I never cook not unless my mom/mum makes me, to get me off of the computer. XD

It is a very good skill to have, when you are on your own. If you can't cook then you won't have a very healthy diet.

lol.
(Pretty sure he was joking btw)

Uh, yeah, we do cooking and stuff at school, which I hate. Still, it's fun to do cooking outside of school, where you needn't worry about all the pressure and that. An important skill to have, yes.

I grew up in a house where my mom was so wholly against me cooking that I would actually get punished if I attempted it.

I still do if I don't do the dishes. ;0 And I still get reprimanded.

I'm 21, man! What gives with that?! D:

You're 21 and you still live with your mother...?

Wow your mean. :p

Its not easy to support yourself right now. Finding jobs is really hard. Finding GOOD jobs is even harder.
Its actually smarter to stay at home while working a bit to get some savings started and other resources.

Whats wrong with that. I still live with my parents :/

When one finds one to live with, one will probably move out of the house..

Would you rather live together with your parents, or live SOLO!?
