Notice: I do not have any Zoroark-Gx so i instead rely on Shaymin-Ex to draw. I believe that Shaymin-Ex and a few other cards in the deck could possibly be replaced by a Zoroark-Gx line in a similar Mallow draw Engine and reproduce something similar. Also note that in my list i will often use only a single copy of a pokémon i play. Feel free to add one more if you want more consistency on 1 aspect of the deck you prefer.
"Playing from behind is bad. Being prepared to play from behind is good".
Whit this important premise in mind, here below is my expanded version of the Counter Box deck. The idea: a deck keeping the Ninja Box idea but implementing Counter Energy with Mew FCO to copy devastating attacks.
I decided to make this counter deck because of the state of the current meta. Mew FCO and Sudowoodo with Counter Energy are very appealing to play now because they can OHKO Zoroark-Gx and Buzzhole-Gx respectively for 1 Counter Energy cost and win the prize trade. Has Mew-Ex is also gaining popularity Mew FCO becomes a nice alternative given that you use Counter Energy.
Since i decided to use Counter Energy in the deck, i also wanted to have the opportunity to copy with Mew FCO the best basic pokemon Ex and Gx attack's of the game. I also needed the deck to have Counter Energy Acceleration in order to do that. Shining Mew SLG can Charge 2 special Energy in a single turn. If you are behind this means it can charge up 2 Counter Energy on Mew FCO worth 4 energy of any type. This brings us to the question:
What are the best attacks Mew FCO can copy regardless of cost in a Counter Deck? Not to forget Dimension Valley.

****** Deck List Generated by the Pokémon TCG Online www.pokemon.com/TCGO ******
Drawing Engine:
We will prefer a Mallow engine here to grab early on the cards we want for turn 2. DCE and Rainbow are good energies early on and Shaymin/Mallow will get you there. Your opponent can decide to play N but as a Counter Energy deck N is less likely to affect you down the road since you can opt for a 4 prize setup.
Energy acceleration:
Shining Mew can accelerate 2 special energy of your choice, enough to get every possible attacker up and ready for the next turn. When you play ahead you will want to accelerate DCE and Rainbow/Prism. When behind, Counter Energy will be key. When behind, 2 Counter Energy on Mew FCO grants you 4 Energies of any type meaning that it gives you access to every Basic attack in the game (as long as the pokémon you want to copy is on your bench).
1 prize attackers:
As mentioned Mew FCO and Sudowoodo BKP are probably the best current 1 prize attackers to use with Counter Energy (Psychic and Fighting weakness is a thing right now). OHKO on Buzzhole-Gx or Zoroark-Gx is just too good to overlook.
2 prize Ex attackers:
I kept the same attacking core engine than my original Ninja Box. Jolteon-Ex or Glaceon-Ex to start attacking on the second turn most of the time is safe and almost always a good choice. Back it up with Machamp/Comfey and Ninja Boy. Those will serve as a fight in front rather than behind core and gather the first 2 prizes you need.
If you fall behind, then Mew FCO can then be used to copy Flash Ray and Crystal Ray attacks for only 1 Counter Energy and Dimension Valley. This will protect Mew FCO, a weak 50Hp pokémon from dying or require investments from your opponent to take out for a single prize card.
2 prize Gx attackers:
Since accelerating 2 Counter Energy with Shining Mew on Mew FCO will provide 4 energies of any kind when behind on prizes as we have said, let's forget about the cost of the Gx attack we want to copy. We can hope to copy the strongest Gx attacks using Mew FCO with Counter Energy.
Guzzlord-Gx
- Glutton Gx (5D): 100 dmg
If your opponent's Pokémon is Knocked Out by damage from this attack, take 2 more Prize cards.
Definitely the attack that synergies best with the Counter Energy concept regardless of Energy cost. Can be loaded and ready for you on the next turn when accelerating with Shining Mew. Guzzlord is unlikely to do more than just a bench sitter on itself here but Mew FCO will gain the opportunity to copy his Gx attack for 4 prizes. Since the attack is still rather expensive and not always reliable, we will also need a cheaper Gx alternative move to copy just in case we cant make it to Glutton-Gx.
Pheromosa-Gx
- Fast Raid (1G): 30dmg
If you go first you attack. Having the possibility to put a little damage early or Donk (1(Prism or Rainbow)Energy)
- Cruel Spike (2G or 1 Counter Energy): 60 dmg
Your opponent is now confused
- Beauty-Gx: Probably the second best Gx attack when you play from behind (1 Counter energy for a late game guaranteed OHKO)
Not only do we have a strong Gx alternative, we also now have access to Donk with Grass and Psychic (Mew FCO) weakness type with the Fast Raid attack. We got a decent attack that can do a basic 60dmg and confuse for the cost of 1 Counter Energy. Finally we have a garanteed late game OHKO Gx attack for either 1 Counter Energy cost or 2 Rainbow or Prism Energy. Beauty-Gx is a cheap alternative to Glutton-Gx.
That being said i did not have much time to test the deck out yet. My connexion as been bad these past few days preventing me from playing. I could still try a few games and successfully pull the donk against a few players and the 4 prize move against a Volcanion-Ex and a Turbo Darkrai deck.
Playing both the donk and the 4 prize move in one deck definitely feels epic.
Warning: Trying this deck might result in some serious brain injuries. Notice that i will not be help responsible for any sequel that could occur as a result to over exposure to hilarious moments on TCGO or IRL because of this deck.
