I feel like they are pulling another Kubfu/Urshifu situation with this "Legendary". We will most like get it early on in the game then instead of it evolving depending on which item you pick it will evolve depending on which version of the game you have

Spoiler: It's not. It's just a regular lizard that looks like the legendaries; it's the non-paradox form of them.

I don't think they would reveal it if it was a pre-evolution to the legendaries. They kept Cosmog and Cosmoem a secret until the games were released.

Cosmog was revealed before release.
