Standard Darkrai EX/GX Deck Post Rotation

I use 2 Sophocles in my post-rotation Turbo Dark list, but only because I can't play 5-6 Sycamore or 5-6 N. I play 4 N and 4 Sycamore, as well as 3 Lele and an Oranguru, but I still find myself dead drawing.

It would be interesting to know, in an average game, how many times a player 'uses' Sycamore/N, i.e. how many times it gets re-used because of VS Seeker. By the sounds of it, a lot based on your findings, hence the need for Sophocles, or similar, in decks post-rotation.

Field Blower is honestly the reason Turbo Dark isn't NEARLY as good as it was.
Are you suggesting TD will never get back up to the top while FB is around, unless a top-notch Dark specific supporter comes along?

Yeah, but, like I said, the meta WILL be different post-rotation. TD with a 1-1 Garbodor probably won't make a difference, since Field Blower still destroys this deck. And although I do think Garbotoxin will be good after rotation, I just don't think it would be good in this deck. TD was really good back in February because the meta opened up to let it win. But once Decidueye/ Vileplume became popular (thanks Kettler), the hype for the deck died down. And when Trashalanche came out, the item hate basically told the deck "if you set up, you lose". And if you don't set up? Guess what happens. These lists with 14-15 Dark Energy are trying to compensate for the taking out of Trainers' Mail and VS Seeker, but then it's not "Turbo" Darkrai, now is it? Also, playing Garbotoxin post-rotation will counteract the Darkrai GX, which at that point, just don't even play Turbo Dark. Also, you brought up the seniors division, and I would just like to give credit to Christian Moreno. Back when Darkrai first started getting hype, HE played Garbotoxin before anyone else. And yes, there is no Energy Switch, TPCI's staff just sucks balls. They made MANY mistakes with posting peoples lists.

I like this list but I feel this deck is best in expanded where it gains battle comp. and Darkrai EX LTR. In that format run sky field and suddenly the list becomes insanely consistent. In standard though perhaps drop 1 Darkrai GX for a For Choice Band

The point of using Darkrai GX is to have an extra energy on the field to power up Darkrai EX's Dark Pulse. The former and a Dark energy can be even fodder for Ultra Ball.

I've just cleaned a few things up in this thread, as there were a few things that had gotten a bit out of hand. Disagreeing is fine, but there's a way to do it without getting snarky. Remember that we're all people behind the screen, so let's discuss and treat each other like one! ~ bbninjas

True, but they are both in TFK's deck (above) so it must be ok?!

In seriousness, Darkrai has always evolved, and seems to manage Top 32 in most/all tournaments (a consistency advantage). What it hasn't done recently, as you say, is be right at the top (a disadvantage to winning something).

I'm sure the top players will come up with a Darkrai deck that will be viable to some extent, which us noobs can learn from.
