Hey guys, this is my Darkrai/Hydreigon deck, and I'm kinda wondering why this deck seems to not be doing very good. I've gotten some matches reviewed and I misplay a lot, but I'm still not sure. Here's my list:

What kind of problems do you tend to run into when playing this deck?

Where are your Eviolite? It turns those 2HKO's into 3HKO's in a mirror match or any other Darkrai variant which pretty huge. It also forces your opponent to have to either drop a Tool Scrapper or 2 Plus Power to Retaliate KO your Darkrai EX with a Terrakion. I would say run no techs and run a simple Darkrai EX / Hydreigon list. Focus on consistency and max out all the important cards, then start changing up your build from there.

@Emperor
Wouldn't Terrakion only need 1 Pluspower? Pluspower is BEFORE applying weakness and resistance. Anyway, I don't exactly like Virizion in this deck. I think replacing them with 2 Eviolite is a good choice.

Oh yeah, that's right. Sorry, kinda dropped the ball on that one. Though my point with the Eviolite helping with the mirror match is still valid.

The reason I don't think that Eviolite would help too much in the mirror is because almost every Darkrai/Hydreigon deck is already running 2-3 Tool Scrapper. I'll probably try it out anyways, and I'll try increasing my Virizion count to see how good of a starter it actually is in this deck.

I don't think that Tool Scrapper will be an easy fit in most of the projected top tier decks. Decks such as Darkrai/Hydreigon, Garchomp/Altaria, Eelektrik variants, Empoleon, Accelgor, etc. are already pretty tight and adding two to three Tool Scrapper may hurt their consistency.

I like Eviolite for the reasons already posted: it can turn a 1HKO into a 2HKO, and a 2HKO into a 3HKO. I agree that your two Virizion should be dropped for two Eviolite.

-2 Virizion
+2 Eviolite

The deck's main strategy is to tank using Hydreigon's Dark Trance ability to move the Energy off of your active attacker (most likely DarkraiEX) and use Max Potion to heal all of the damage done to it. Therefore I would add one Max Potion. To do that I would drop Tool Scrapper down to zero (having only one makes it very hard to get when you need it so it could be entirely dropped to boost consistency elsewhere). I would add a Professor Juniper to increase your draw power, better ensuring that you can get the cards you need.

-2 Tool Scrapper
+1 Max Potion
+1 Professor Juniper

I find that the deck lays cards down fast. You are also discarding a lot via Professor Juniper and Ultra Ball. As a result of this I run Bianca instead of Cheren. I find myself drawing three to six cards very consistently (obviously less consistent as you get closer to the number six, but you're still drawing the same or more as you would draw with Cheren). Based on that, I would drop two Cheren and add two Bianca.

-2 Cheren
+2 Bianca

Finally, Sableye is obviously a great fit in this deck. It is an awesome starter because you can begin to set up by playing/discarding Item cards and then placing them back into your hand via Junk Hunt. I would suggest that you drop one (possibly two, but just one for now) Item card and add another Supporter to boost your ability to consistently draw the cards you want. I'm going to say drop a Pokemon Catcher and add a Bianca, however you could just as easily drop a Dark Patch. It really depends on what you find yourself needing more!

-1 Pokemon Catcher
+1 Bianca

I hope that all came out coherently and gives you a couple of ideas for the deck. The changes that I suggested put your deck list closer to mine, and I have been finding a good amount of success with the list I am using!

Ultimately do whatever you find works best for you! :D

Also on the matter of Eviolite and Tool Scrapper, Tool Scrapper would only be needed agaisnt Garbodor because even if your opponent has an Eviolite on their EX, you can Night Spear then attack with Hydreigon. Some people won't expect that to happen to them.

I highly recommend Eviolite. Put in 3 if you can. If you're against Garbordor/Terrakion, you have a Darkrai EX die, set up Shaymin EX with Eviolite, and sweep. I've won matches against Garbordor because of that.
1 Tool Scrapper is my recommendation; you really only need it against Garbordor and when you wanna get the KO by removing the Eviolite. Only use one; get it in the discard pile and Sableye.
0 Level Ball. I've found zero use of it in all my matches.
Don't use Virizion; I don't really see the point in playing it. Shaymin EX does it's job, but better.
So,
-1 Tool Scrapper
-2 Level Ball
-1 Virizion

+3 Eviolite
+1 Sableye

Also, maybe -1 Dark Patch +1 Juniper. Other than that, looks solid. Then it's how you play from there on.

sableye is the star in this deck, drop virizion and add more sableye junkhunt is amazing and helps you set up crazy fast. remove virizon and start with sableye and youll be amazed.
