hi guys im new here, so i dont really know where to put this, so please moderators or admins move this thread to the right spot. My question is is it good to have 1 type of pokemon vs 2-3? more pokemon less energy vs more energy and less pokemon vs some pokemon some trainers some energies.

can you guys help me how to build a good deck? like what cards it is better to have more etc. anything that is helpful. thanks.

and oh yeah more pokemon with high energy costs vs more pokemon with low energy costs(that does less damage) and new cards vs old cards(like old old originals)

Pokemon types actually aren't a good idea at all. It's much better to run Pokemon around their attacks, Poke Powers/Bodies, things like that rather than types. Running on types usually doesn't give your Pokemon a combo or have any synergy at all. It's more just a bunch of Pokemon thrown in.

And on average these days, it is more Pokemon/less Energy. The average deck doesn't exceed 13 Energy.

EDIT: And yes, your deck should have a good amount of Trainers and Supporters (and Stadiums but that depends on what deck you are playing.)

Other way around. Pokemon with low Energy costs and the legal cards are the better ones right now.

Thing is, the starter decks lie. They use pyramid lines, about half the deck is energy, and many useless trainers for no apparent reason. This is a good place to see what mainstream decks are like now.

i seen those but the problem is I dont really have a lot of the newer versions of cards. the newest rare card i have is from hgss but i cant play it and the types i have to stick too is grass and fighting/rock ebcause b4 i had a the legend maker golem deck. so i can only amke a deck with old cards and some new but mostly old so im gonna post a deck i made soon and i want to see people commenting on it. and i dont want to waste a lot of money buying cards so im most likely sticking to what i have.

Well, most deck have low energy (MAXIMUM 15) and use fast, powerful cards. And like Gliscor said, it is best to run pokemon based on they're statistics.
