So I'm fairly new to this. My daughter started playing and I'm trying to do things to be involved with her... we've only been playing a couple of months. Am I running to many EX cards in my deck? Is there such a thing as too many EX's? I've been using Victini EX to help move around energy, but the low HP has sometimes had an impact.. should I try something else? Shaymin is my big reason for keeping grass energy around, as it's worked nice when I start to fall behind in the prize card count with it's then high attack and low energy cost. I'm also trying to get a Virizion EX or two though.. I believe they help move around energy? Would those be better to run than the Victini's? Should I get rid of some of my draw cards for other supporters/tools? Any help and advice is appreciated... And remember, I'm new.. please try not to be too mean.

First off, welcome to Pokemon and to PokeBeach! Don't worry about meanness -- the people at Pokemon are far cooler-headed than you might find in other games. But, I must say, we're all mad here! *Mad Hatter Grin* :p

As for your post, though... Hm. Before my analysis, I would like to address several of your questions:

1). There isn't really such a thing as too many of certain card, I find, just as long as it doesn't take away from what your core strategy is! For instance, you can run four Bronzong in a deck and it'll actually function better than it would otherwise. I like to say that building a Pokemon deck is a lot like chemistry: With the right mix, you can get a useful, smooth flowing product -- or it can just as easily blow up in your face.

2). Victini as a starter Pokemon is really, like many other answers to your questions, is purely preference. But perhaps you could simply look at your current metagame (i.e. "What is everyone else playing?") to gauge such a decision.

3). Virizion EX is a great Pokemon -- there is no doubt about that -- but just as that is a plain truth, so, too, is the price. The thing's like thirty dollars or something even more obscene. There is a risk with this: What if you play it, and you find out that it isn't good in your deck? Now, given the fact that you would love to play it, there is an awesome solution that saves money and time that I use probably more often than I should: Proxying. Now, proxying a card could be as simple as putting a Honedge in a sleeve and stating "Hey, this Honedge is a Virizion EX" and you play it as such. But you could also do what I do: Go to Bebessearch.com and use their proxy system. Once there, you can print out a page of paper that has the card and several others upon it, then cut them out and place them all in sleeves to where everyone can have a visual representation of the card. It's nifty! Just make sure you use actual cards when you go to a tournament!

4). Yes -- which brings me to my analysis!

Now, looking at your list, it seems to me that there are a few directions you could go with this! Flareon PLF is actually really popular right now, and I'll go ahead and link you to a list of Flareon so you can get the gist of what it's all about:

Linkstorm 2: The Linkening

Now, you don't have to play this deck or this exact list -- it's just something to consider building something close to. Considering this list at the moment, I would make the following changes if you don't want to make any drastic changes:

-All Virizion EX (Sorry, I just don't think it's going to be the best addition. You might want to go more mono-fire type.)
-2 Shaymin EX (You may enjoy this card, but you have to consider how consistency will fare with it included over other cards that help you get what you need.)
-8 Grass Energy (Since you aren't running Grass, no sense running the Energy, no? :p )

+4 Professor Juniper/Sycamore (They're the same card. Ech. Anyway, they draw you a good deal of cards, so you can get what you need, when you need it!)
+4 N (Draw support as well as disruption for your opponent? Sign me up! With this card, both players shuffle their hands into their decks and draw cards equal to the amount of Prize Cards they have. For instance, if your daughter had two Prizes, and you three, you would draw three cards and she would draw two. Similarly, if you both had six, then you would draw six.)
+2 VS Seeker (Grabs a Supporter from your Discard Pile! So that N you played before? Or that Blacksmith? You can play 'em again!)

Hope I helped! Be sure to check out The Competitive Metagame forum for more on, well, the metagame! :D
