Deck Names

Am I the only one bothered by the unoriginality that goes into deck names? I'm tired of names of pokemon put togeter like gechamp
for example Lady Gaga is a very original name, I love it actually even if it includes cards I hate.
Here's what I mean:
Tangmin could be something like Greenhouse Effect
Gechamp could be something like Pest Control
Flychamp could be something like Dragon Wars (even if that movie sucks).

Well if you want to call them that, do it. I am pretty sure no one cares so much about the names as the decks. I don't think people play pokemon to name their decks, they play them to win with the cards. Call Gechamp this if you wish:

Super Mega Ultra Robo destroyer mecha robo killer.

Its still the same deck, no? Its just those names are simple and many people catch on as to what the deck consists. Flychamp obviously is Flygon Machamp, very easy to know. If someone called it Dragon Wars, people wouldn't think Flychamp. They would think you are kinda lame for thinking of stupid names like that. So call them whatever you wish. No one is stopping you. Its just easier for everyone.

I name my primape deck the "GHAAAHAHAHA*gargle*ape's" and my main deck the "slap u in the face deck". I don't like meshing name's of cards or using terrible singer's as an idea for what to name my deck (i don't like lady gaga at all.) so I just take what the deck does and use it as a name. cya

I used to play a Machamp deck back when PL(1) came out, it was called "Discombobulated Corpse Termination Urbanization Governmentalibation Explosive Montazuma's Blasting Power Revenge." And yes, when I printed out my deck list I put that as the deck title.

nice name, i think that top's gargle ape's and my empoleon deck's name "team lazy penguin ahoy!". cya

What ever happened to machamp being called Chinese takeout.XD
However I agree with what seth said. These names tell people what's in a deck and help them make instant connections.
Shouldent the real place for creativity be in the decks temselves not in the names people give them?
If you want to come up with clever names for things go into advertisement. shesh

PS.you gotta admit though the flying tiger deck wins on both accounts.=)

Honestly, the only time deck names really matter is when the world decks are printed.

I'm just hoping Jumpluff takes worlds this year, then we can see a deckname like...

Cotton Candy
Cotton Eyed Joe
Fluffy Balls

Something like that.

You stole Jessie's name. Jerk. ;_;

Anyway...yeah. I think that those simple names are so that people instantly know what you're talking about when you say it. Not very many are going to know what "My Epic Deck" is. Do you? Not unless you're Seth. Now, if I told you, (*coughfloatgatrcough*), then you'd instantly be able to tell what's in it.

Until I swap into an actually playable version of a deck, I name mine wierd. My Burmy deck was called "Bloodbath" until I got it fixed up, then I swapped to just "Burmy Attack" for ease of reference.

I call my mightyena deck "Speed Buster"

Props to anyone who knows where I got the name :p

well that is tru, but then again when I usually play 6+ different pokemon card line's in my unlimited deck's it's hard to mesh a name that suit's it well, if I did it would probably turn out like this alabicreusgargarettelass, so I just come up with them on the spot to save creativity and time I just name what the deck does, it take's peoples cards and slap's em in the face with them, A.K.A "slap u in the face deck". but that's if you run that many cards in your deck. cya

P.S. crazy fast search engine for 8 dif Pokémon card line's though.

^ i know that ..

anyway .. i agree with lou's comment i think deck names just became known when the worlds released them .. and that doesnt affect the performance of your deck either so i think nobody would care much towards the name of a certain deck.

i remember calling my charizard G lv.x teched with flygon *c.gon* stands for charizard flygon then i got a warning level at my account. LOLS .. but that was a long time ago .

i name my decks according to their strategies (Actually very simple names) my main deck is called "Hit & Run" and the backup deck is called "Drain Damage" yup you pretty much figure what they do by the names but that's why I usually don't reveal the name of the decks unless my opponent already knows what's going on

its an absol G lv.x and a blaziken FB lv.x a combo of two fast cards that requires minimal energy to use. goes along with either 1-1 GCX/1-1 DGX
