Deck Slump

I want to build a deck, but several of the ideas I have are waiting on cards from future sets, so I can't really do anything with those.

Only deck idea I've been able to come up with today is Venomoth, but I don't have enough cards to fill it yet.

I need some ideas of hidden gems to make an off-the-wall deck. Something that's not already going to be widely popular.

So no suggestions like Gengar or Blastoise or Jumpluff please.

Check out the overview of this format here: http://pokegym.net/tower/
And decent cards that are not exploited too much right now, off the top of my head: Steelix UL, Crobat UL, T-tar in general, Absol G X, the AR Fossils, Sceptile AR.
Hope it helps. It's not a good idea to ask for decks, show some of your own creativity plox. You can look up every card in the format, you're bound to find a combo somewhere.

Oh I'm not looking for straight-up decks. Just ideas that I can build off of.

You can try looking HERE.

Just sit down one day, and look at cards and see what ones have synergy. I know it seems like a lot of time wasted, but you'd be surprised.

You could try Aerodactyl MT with Ampharos PL and SW for power lock.

I already have a wonderful strategy for powerblocking involving Glaceon and Gengar, unfortunately. I need something that's just not getting any attention, like Breloom.

like breloom indeed. breloom sv/rapidash pa (anti sp)/unown q
an anti sp rogue that could do well.

Try my newest creation, Toolbox Fire. Fire has amazing draw power with Ninetales HGSS, which has synergy with Engineer's Adjustments and Interviewer's Questions from the new Unleashed set. It also has energy fuel in Typhlosion Prime.

Now that we've got an engine, let's hook it up to something! How about we start with Fire's two best attackers: Charizard AR and Magmortar SW. Two of each looks good. Maybe one Magmortar Lv. X optionally (running 2-2-1). It's not a must-have card, and you could totally do 4 zards instead and make it more of a zard deck, but I honestly like this more than playing zard. Magmortar can make a REALLY big mess situationally. Other techs I run are Exploud to get rid of weakness and Rapidash PT to stall SP decks; both work very well, especially in my meta. The other good tool I haven't put in the deck yet but is TOTALLY worth testing is Beautifly PT. You'd need to run rainbows or grass to power it up, but it can wreak havoc with the huge energy acceleration this deck has. It's totally as good as running it in Speedrill (which I do).

I'm kinda having the same problem, I've been trying cramming 2 metagame cards together and calling it rogue, but thats cause I suck. Maybe try out Darkrai Lv.X or Altaria? They both seem OK except for Altaria's Luxray weakness

So you want to rogue deck, eh?

Gyarados MT + Unown P + expert belt.

There's your rogue deck right there. Get out a quick T1/T2 G-dos use Unown P to place damage on G-dos, activate its body play down an Expert belt, 60 damage from T1/T2. Up side is it only needs 1 energy to do an attack meaning you're have alot of space for techs and trainers. Downside being that your damage is highly reliant on the amount of damage on Gyarados MT.

Absol G Lv. X Donk. It does 60 for one {D} and an Energy gain. It also has a disruption ability (when you level Absol G, you flip three coins. For each heads, you put the top card of your opponent's deck in the Lost Zone.)

Hm... I'd say maybe something with Happiny/Chansey/Blissey? Are you trying to have any type theme?
I think Darkrai's also good... or Duskull/Dusclops/Dusknoir... I use the LA Giratina that they gave away at Burger King. :) I doubt I helped any... lol sorry

Just pick a card you like and make a deck around it, its not that hard. You don't have to combo it with anything or have some weird strategy.
