Defence against Lostgar?

I haven't seen one good Lux fit in 4+ Stadiums. Maybe one or two for Toxitank, but really not enough to counter Lost World every turn.

dmaster out.

Oh if you meant that many. I heard that alot of lostgars only play 2 lost world, because they need BTS early game.

I would expect the minimum to be four, especially for counters lol.

dmaster out.

Well, you can counter its Hunter to pick up your pokemon combo thing by cramming a fossil in to the deck... Really I don't see many counters out there except out speeding it. Maybe deafen lock.

Well outspeeding it is an option. Locking it down is another. Vilegar should have a favourable match-up if only because Lostgar would simply lose all its VS Seekers. Deafen lock is a sure win, of course.

There's also Looker's Investigation, Cyrus' Initiative, Judge, etc., all cards designed to stop them from playing the Stadium. Cyrus' Initiative would be most effective, but expediency Looker's would be more beneficial for other matchups.

And if all else fails, you could simply not put down basics...and shuffle them all into your deck. Since Lostgar's damage is essentially zero, what can they do against, for example, a lone Tyranitar with Expert Belt?

Either way, it's time for people to use a lot more Looker's Investigation at least.

stadium counters against lost world wont really work that great because as minimidget94 said, most lostgar decks only run 2 lost world stadiums and they dont pull it out until they use twins

Imperial Iron Wall is a good side deck card for Anti-Removal. Just sayin'

Really, though, I think Lost World is rediculously overpowered, and just keeping Pokemon out of your hands and lookering them before they looker you and killing Staraptor FBs is the best way to go.

I wish Weavile SW wasn't rotated out.... Anyway, Gengar prime is a light snack for good Absol G or T-tar prime builds (assuming you don't have a really horrible start)
T-tar is probably the best choice, because it doesn't lose to most non-lostgar decks.

And Gengar prime with 1-1 Mewtwo Lv.X would probably win against Absol, weakness or not.

But, we do have Weavile UD. In case you hadn't noticed, its power allows you to look at your opponent's hand and discard a card there. And we all know that if a stadium gets discarded...there's no way to retrieve it. Problem solved? Doubtful. You'd probably have to run a lot of trainers that force discards from your opponent, and you might not see Lost World as an option for Claw Snag to discard...but it's a thought.

Blaziken FB is IMO great against gengar prime. Since it doesnt really do damage, you can two shot it, and any other gengars without being revenged. If you can kill a couple gengars, they wont be able to recover all that well.

I've actually heard over in Japan, Tyranitar prime is the anti-Gengar. You just have to play it right...rumor has it Darkness Howl absolutely murders LostGar.

Yeah with a belt it 2HKOs, and it kills their bench in a couple turns. But that doesnt really work in SP.

I wasn't talking about SP, I was talking about a standalone deck. TTar Spread can set up T1-T3, usually around T2. T2 is most optimal anyway because they probably actually have a bench by then to score multiple kills. And I personally would run a few DCE just in case...Power Claw will OHKO with a Special Dark even if they're Leveled Up. Just an idea...I was running Tyranitar anyway lol.

I predict Absol G + DGX will become popular as an anti gengar deck. Absol G can ohko both mew and gengar if it has a single special dark and an energy gain. Plus you can psyc them out by sending their stuff the the LZ. And DGX is a nice wall that does decent damage and prevents gengar and mew from using their bodies.
