BW/BW2 Desukan - The Egyptian Sarcophagus Pokemon :)

Im very excited for Desukan! Out of all the 5th gen pokemon released so far this has to be my favorite! I think it has to do with spiritomb. Even if it doesnt I still hope its Ghost/Dark if it doesnt end up having an original typing. It looks like it would be a nice physical tank and I would probably use it ALL THE TIME! :p
 
if you look closely, it has 4 arms. is there (maybe) 2 bodies inside of it, and they can come out in a way?
 
So far I'm not liking the appearance of Desukan, but still think the idea is awesome.

Maybe the ghosts inside are spirits of long-dead Pokemon buried by people of an ancient civilization, similar to how Egyptians mummified animals.
 
Given the information we do have, an Evo to spiritomb would make sense.

Spiritomb is trapped to that rock and is made up of many spirits.
The fact that this new pokemon has multiple ghost hands would suggest teh same idea.


However, given the bright colors, it COULD be an odd rotom form.
 
Hm, I'm not really liking the concept of this one. I'll have to wait until I see the front of it.

Anyway, I really think Desukan will be a one-off Pokemon (like Snorlax, Sudowoodo, etc). I can't really imagine a bunch of these things hopping around in the wild. xD

Also, I'm hoping for Ghost/Ground. Seems a bit cooler than Ghost/Rock for some reason...

It's almost like it traps some sort of shadow inside. Also, to me it keeps reminding me of that one villain from the movie The Princess and the Frog (don't let the title fool you, the villain has control over shadows.)

If it turns out to be just like that, then I don't think this is a bad pokemon at all!

Yeah,I agree with you.Maybe is on the north-west in some ruin that Black will find out that is buried by peopke of an ancient civilization.
 
Anyone ever hear of the ancient Aztecs? the symbol on the back of the 'coffin' (im saying coffin because i cba to spell the other word) is an Aztec symbol
 
Wow Deathkahn is building quite alot of popularity and we still haven't even seen its front! I didn't see this coming at all.
I was kind of expecting "It is N0t tEhh anImalzz, HaTE iT and its BABIEZ!!114". I wonder if you guys'll change your tune back to normal once its fully revealed haha.
 
The idea of a sarchophogus is interesting, but I don't like this Pokemon. It doesn't seem like a pokemon, more just a coffin with arms.
 
Im definitely hoping that its a ghost type. And i can't wait to see sugimori artwork of this pokemon!
 
To me it seems like a ghost type found either in the desert or in the mountain. It will probably be found in the desert after you pass the City. I doubt if this will have an evolution or not, it just seems to me that it doesn't evolve.
 
It could be Ghost/Psychic, with the power to control spirits or something like that. I think Desukan won't have any evos, and you will find it in some sort of tomb like dwarfstar123 wrote. It looks like a strong Pokemon, I definately want it on my team. I also agree that it could have some connection to Spiritomb, not an evolutionary connection, but something unique.
 
I personally started out disliking Desukan, but he grew on me. Now, I'll wait for him to be fully revealed to make the final Judgment. I believe that It'll be Ghost/Rock or Ground.

I like that Idea, Pokemon that are non-legendary and have a connection that isn't an evolution line. That would be cool. (Nintendo has probably made some like that before, but I can't think of any at the moment)

What about Mantine and Remoraid? You always see them together in cards and on television. Since there are already some Pokemon like that, it's likely that they will make more.
 
I have a strong suspicion that Desukan is an evo of Spiritomb. I mean, look at Spiritomb's dex entry:

It was formed by uniting 108 spirits. It has been bound to the odd keystone to keep it from doing any mischief.

Desukan has ghostly arms coming out of it, and to me that means that there are multiple spirits within it, similar to Spiritomb. Not only that, but they seem to be locked away within the sarcophagus, because they are evil, mischievous spirits. They are trying to escape from their prison. So I'm thinking Spiritomb evolves into it, maybe by a new method, like you find a sarcophagus in those ancient ruins at the northern tip of Isshu and bring Spiritomb there and it enters the sarcophagus, evolving into Desukan.

Oh, and just a random thing I'd like to say: It's really annoying that people keep saying pokemon are departing too much from animals, or they "don't look like pokemon". They are called "Pocket Monsters", not "Pocket Animals". And what about Grimer, Magnemite, Voltorb, etc? Anyways...
 
I hope the desert is an epic place to explore unlike R/S/E's desert. Maybe Desukan will be found in deep within ruins in the desert, that would be so cool!
