Strategy:
So after seeing the new Bronzong, I got super excited and knew I needed to modify my Cobalion/Klinklang deck. Bronzong has the ability to attach 1 Metal energy from your discard pile to 1 of your Benched Pokemon, once per turn. Dialga EX has an attack that does 150 damage for [M][M][C][C] and you discard 2 Metal energy. His other attack isn't terrible either: for [M][C][C], it does 60 damage, and if the active Pokemon is an EX, it can't attack next turn.

The deck now works something more like Rayeels did. Dialga is the new Rayquaza and Bronzong is the new Eelektrik. Do your damage and discard your energy with Dialga, Rush In next turn with Keldeo, reattach energy to the Dialga with Bronzongs on the bench, retreat Float Stone Keldeo, and bring back Dialga for more damage (which unfortunately maxes out at 170, which doesn't quuuuuite reach the OHKO everything besides Megas category). Cobalion EX is still around to counter Pyroar, Suicune and Sigilyph. Aegislash EX can wall a lot of the meta, and I feel he will become even more handy if future sets keep releasing special energies for each type. Beartic is around to definitely counter Pyroars, since Cobalion EX is a bit risky.

I have a fairly typical supporter line with 4 N/Juniper and 2 Colress, and I include a Lysandre (force that critical KO) and Pokemon Fan Club (quickly throw a couple Basics down).

Float Stone: For the Keldeo combo
Muscle Band/HTL/Virbank: Helps put Dialga in that OHKO territory and Cobalion EX can OHKO Pyroars.
Sacred Ash: Pull out some critical pokemon like a Bronzong line if they get KOed.
Professor's Letter: Get some quick energy that I could then discard with Ultra Ball or Juniper
Computer Search: It was a toss up between this and Dowsing Machine. Only time will tell which will work better for this deck.

Of course, this deck has some major potential to change once we see more of the set revealed, as I'm sure there will be special energy for Metal (which I bet reduces damage taken). I will revise as things get announced. All comments and criticisms welcome!

EDIT: Removed 2-1-2x Klinklang line, 4x Heavy Ball, 1x Rare Candy, and Dowsing Machine for 1-1x Beartic line, 1x Pokemon Fan Club, 2-3x Virbank/HTLs, 1x Sacred Ash, 1x Professor's Letter, Computer Search and one more DCE.

RE: Dialzong - Dialga EX, Bronzong and some friends

Just remember that the Klinks and Klangs with 3 retreat cost were printed in Dark Explorers and are being rotated out, so even if Heavy Ball is reprinted, you won't be able to search out the whole Kinglang line.

RE: Dialzong - Dialga EX, Bronzong and some friends

Oh no! You're right. Thanks for pointing that out. Guess it's too much to hope for a new 3 retreat cost Klink and a heavy ball reprint, huh? Maybe I could run a Dedenne or couple of Pokemon Fan Clubs? Looking more and more like Great Balls, Virbank and HTLs. I really hope we get some ball search engine in this new set.

RE: Dialzong - Dialga EX, Bronzong and some friends

Here's the list I just put together:

Pokemon: 15

  • 3x Dialga EX (PG)
    3-3x Bronzong (PG)
    2x Cobalion EX (PS)
    1x Aegislash EX (PG)
    1x Jirachi EX (PLB)
    2x Keldeo EX (BCR)
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 34

  • 4x N
    4x Professor Juniper
    2x Colress
    1x Skyla
    2x Lysandre
    4x Ultra Ball
    3x Float Stone
    3x Muscle Band
    2x Virbank City Gym
    4x Hypnotoxic Laser
    1x Sacred Ash
    1x Professor's Letter
    2x Startling Megaphone
    1x Computer Search
Energy: 11

  • 8x Metal energy
    3x Double Colorless energy

The main issue I have with this list right now is that half of the basics in this deck are ones that you don't want to start off with. Maybe adding some Energy Press Cobalions would be good and take out a Keldeo and maybe a single Colress since there is a Jirachi in this deck. The other issue is how to deal with the Pyroar match up. With only 2 Cobalion EX and 1 Sacred Ash, it will be rough. Aegislash can wall it if they throw on a DCE, but they can play around that while Aegislash can't attack back. We don't yet know what attack(s) Bronzong has yet nor what it's weakness is, so we can't be sure if it will be a viable counter or not. Teching in PLF Steelix or FUF Beartic are good options though. Hopefully they release a Stage 1 Metal type without a Fire weakness in PG. That would help tons.

Edit: I miscounted the amount of trainers, so I took out a Metal energy to bring it to 60 cards.

I actually really like this list, and it is closer to what I'll probably be running because I don't think the Klinklang line is going to be viable.

It'd be really cool if Bronzong has a viable attack to counter Pyroar, especially if he doesn't have a weakness to fire. That is plausible because he has the ability Heatproof in the video game (wouldn't it be awesome if he resisted fire, haha). Otherwise, maybe -1 metal energy, -1 laser for 1-1 Beartic (or possible future Stage 1 Metal without fire weakness).

Thanks a lot for your list!

No problem! I'm definitely planning on building this. I'm so excited for Metal decks to be making a come back!

Maybe you could just replace the Klinks with Beartic lines because there's not really anything to survive Pyroar in this list. And personally, I'd change the name of the deck to ZonGa. (Bronzong Dialga) Now whenever you get a KO you can say, "GET ZONGA'D" or something like that.

I will momentarily update my deck list with what I have now since I've pretty much decided Klinklang clutters up the deck too much. With the Beartic line, I could even call the deck Bezonga! No? Anyone? Ok, I'll see myself out.

I really like this deck idea. I might have to wait until Phantom Forces comes out until I build my first deck

no klinklang?

Yeah, I ended up removing him to increase the consistency of my deck and better handle Pyroar. With both heavy ball and the 3 retreat Klink (so even if we get a heavy ball reprint, I can't get the whole line) being rotated out, the ability to get everything out has been drastically hurt. So instead I made it easier to reach that 180 damage marker. Why wall with this deck when I can make OHKO's more likely? I still have an Aegislash for walling purposes, though. I feel like a special energy wall will be very important in the upcoming meta.

I think if I were to go back to the Klinklang route, I'd drop Dialga altogether and focus on Aegislash as my main attacker, with Klinklang and Bronzong providing support.
