Seems that the metagame will get a little harder but not as hard as it could've been

lost link cards will have a decent effect on the metagame.
there will be lovers, as will be haters

clash at the summit set has some decent cards. none that i can think of that will be game altering, but fun to play with/rouge decks.
once the new rotations come about, alot more cards from the legend series will see more opportunities to play

This set will definitely have a big impact on the meta, probably the most out of all the HS sets. Almost all the primes are usable, bar a select few, some of which still have their niches. We get awesome supporters like Twins, Black Belt, and Hunter, trainers like Junk Arm and Lost Remover, and even rescue energy. Lots of the other rares, etc. are pretty good too. And then of course probably the most hyped card of the set, Lost World.

Cough Cough

I think the nidos might make a splash if someone can make them fast enough.
The gengar/mew lost world shenanigan.
Yanmega prime might be seen.

Gengar/Mew might be the only thing that stays meta.

There are lots of cards from this set (provided we get them) that will be big.
As stated above;

Nidoking (TR) and Queen (RR) will be good IF made fast enough.
Gengar Prime will be the most hyped card and probably as good too.
Yanmega will be good only if the combo's used allow it to use its Body. (IE Copy cat etc)
Darkrai Cresselia Legend will be beast. It fits into the lost world combo's AND can be used with Gengar.
PDL might be good, but I dont know yet.
Solrock (TR) will be great. Spread decks like Giratina can work finally.

I agree that most of the cards on that list that crm linked to, except maybe Celebi. It may be okay, but of course, SPs will still probably be popular and Gengar will always be there to shadow room.

Well, I listed the things I think will be effective.
I think I missed machamp though.
We'll have to wait and see how he does.

I don't really see too many playable cards in this set other than Gengar Prime, Lost World, Hunter, Dialga/Palkia LEGEND, maybe a few others. Machamp Prime is pretty decent and so is Victreebel however it doesn't have enough attack power to be good for competitive play.

The new Marowak is overrated as is Wailord, Rescue Energy might see some play, I know Hunter will make decks based around Vileplume and Spiritomb much more playable but as of now it's not that good. I'm worried this set won't be good enough for players to attend a Pre-Release for it but with Hunter being printed I think they might.

I'm surprised there's been so much love for Palkia & Dialga LEGEND, I thought I was the only one looking forward to it. Now, onto the list:

Gengar Prime (Dur)
Lost World (Another dur)
PDL (Yay!)
Magnezone Prime (Next drawpower, even though no one realizes it)
Bronzong (Makes LEGENDS much more playable)
Indigo Plateau (Same)
Solrock (Spreading)
Nidoking (Tank!)

I dont understand why Palkia Dialga Legend is any good.
None of its attacks do damage. Even if your opponent has 20 prize cards left, you still wont win unless you take all of yours. To do that, you need to knock out pokemon and to do that, you need to inflict damage. But PDL cant.

And if you use your attack to add to their prizes, you arent damaging them with another pokemon either.

Actually Shadoworganoid you win after the 30+3 time limit even if you don't take a single prize if your opponent has more prizes left than you. So, effectively using PDL you can win without taking a single prize card, so essentially it would work well in a Stall/Lock deck.

Well, if thats the case, fine. However, how do you keep that on the field constantly? If your opponents pokemon are left unchecked, things like Luxray will just kill it before you get that luxury.

I think we can expect some very good things from this set.

Gengar Prime: Probably one of the best cards in the set, if not the best.
Machamp Prime: Uber combo with Donphan Prime. Everyone should be fearing this deck.
Magnezone Prime: A great draw engine in an electric deck. But that is very particular.
Mew Prime: How can you not love Mew? <3
PDL: Amazing card. can't wait to try this out. Imagine, 16 prize cards or more..
Bronzong: Make PDL easily played. Other Legend decks benefit greatly as well.
Nidoking: Cool card, glad its in a theme deck. I see rogue...

Not to mention the FANTASTIC T/S/S in this set. The supporters are great, and so are the staduims. The trainers are nice, but are outclassed by everything else. Definetly a great set.

I dont think PDL is all that great. It auto loses to gengar prime, since it doesnt need to take prizes, just send things to the lost zone. Im not really sure how it would work, but Im pretty sure gengar would handily win the matchup.

What's with all the Bronzong hype? Furret SW did the same thing, except for no energy and you could get any two cards you wanted, yet no one used it anyway. So tell me, how is Bronzong better?

I myself am excited for yanmega prime, one of my favorite pokemon ever. :)

I am also excited about the new magmortar, I'm going to try to make him work :)

anyone else excited for the prereleases in a month?

I have heard people say Gengar prime is going to be great and I have heard it's not that good so wee will just have to wait and see. I am also excited for Machamp prime which helps Donphan a lot.

Don't forget Cubone. 80 damage reduction = Tank!!!
Cubone could be good in a Gyarados-style list. Junk Arm, Regice, Blissey PT, and Nidoqueen for extra healing. Snowpoint Temple, too. Expert Belt. That equals a 80 HP 80 reduction Cubone Tank! And I didn't even get to Defender... How I wish Cubone was metal type...

@peddles:
Magmortar could be good with Heatran Lv.X, Typhlosion Prime, and Ninetails.

I am sooo psyched for Pre-releases! I need so many cards from this set! I'll probably buy a box, and ask for another for Christmas!
