Do people still play old formats?

I don't play the TCG much but do any of you play any of the older formats? and if you do when and how? I'm not talking about stuff like HGSS-on which isn't that old, but what about stuff like DP-Platinum or something really old like anything before 2000?
Just curious, since I know more about the old cards from playing the video game(I use a Haymaker.) and want to know if people atually still play with the really old cards.

I have a few decks made up with Dutch Base-Fossil cards that I play with my fiancé to help me practice my language skills. Game seems so much simpler. >_>

I have a few Neo-Skyride decks as well as 5 LM-DP decks, 2 MD-CL decks and a Palace format.

I still have a PLOX deck and a LuxChomp deck built :). (if I get 2 RH Collectors my LuxChomp deck will be all Reversed/Promos.)

But yeah, I whip them out occasionally. Sometimes for fun I'll play like LBS against PLOX or something similar, just to compare formats. Battling World Championship decks is sometimes really fun.

I kept my RogueChomp dek. and my KFV2 (both are my creations for funz). It always fun to play them. A bunch of people I know have LuxChomps and Gyarados too, cause that was around the time when NJ had its best year eva.

I loved the old formats; they remind me of when the game was actually fun to play. I still have a Duskgar (DP-UL), Gigasbox (MD-CoL), and Durant (HS-DEX) decks all built and ready to play at a moment's notice. Guess which one's my favorite.
(Okay, I didn't like the format that Durant was in at all, but Durant was such a fun deck that I made an exception. I would have kept my Lost World deck, but after Worlds it just started to suck and I couldn't repair it sufficiently to keep it good.)

My cousins play the older formats.
Mainly because I don't want their grubby hands on my fresher cards. I didn't take care of my DP cards because I didn't have proper means of protection at the time I bought them,(Almost the same goes for my HGSS cards, actually.) so I let them use whatever is in my little unlimited box. (It's because they're in elementary school, and they don't wash their hands for some reason!)

I've seen people in my league play with older format cards too.

Rain Dance deck. Blastoise, the Feraligatr with Downpour, Articuno and Lapras for early hits. My favorite. The original deck has nothing in it after the Neo series.

My favorite metagames involve 4th gen sets. I don't know, but they seem much more balanced than nowadays'. But then there was the SPs...

Oh totally! There are plenty of people who play old formats, I've got one friend with Chaos King Deck, (Slowking & Chaos Gym) and another friend with a pure Unown Deck, mixing Neo- Unowns with a few DP Unowns, mimicry Decks focusing on Base Clefairy/Clefable, etc!

I got rid of almost all of my lv.x's and stuff because I was an idiot, but I really love playing old format games on PlayTCG and Redshark.

There are a few people around that still play the old format. One time when I lived in Canada there were people playing the Pokemon TCG at the mall and at school. They are there but very rarely ever see it happen because they banned it in the United States XD.:)

Last time I was there, one of my regular leagues had a bunch of people using unlimited decks. I haven't been in awhile, cause other stuff normally takes priority.

This summer me and my friends were playing in DP-UL just because of how disgusted we were with the current format. (I so agree with DNA about the Durant thing.) I was playing my signature Flygon-Ludicolo thing, and my friends were playing Promogon and Palkia G Lock. It's fun playing back in a format where you can play 20 cards a turn after being exposed to bad Zek Eels builds being shoved down your throat since February.

I've also really wanted to get into the Deoxys-on format but none of my friends want to. I just want to know what it feels like to play LudiCargo, is that too much to ask for?

My friends and I sometimes play in the DP-UL format for fun.
We miss it.
Oh how we miss it.

Luxchomp lasted well into MD-on. I think you need to put -2011.

I think he meant 2010-2011 because Luxchomp before HG-SS is just no.
