Do you remember these?

I remember back in the day when pokemon beckett was THE magazine to buy. It was around the time of base set....at least thats when I remember them. I dont know what to call it, so I guess you could say "win on this turn" situation. They would show a game board with a game going on thats pretty much at its end. It would be your turn and if you dont get the win this turn then you lose. They usually show your hand and whats in your discard pile. So pretty much it was a puzzle to figure out how to get the win. I thought these were sooo fun! Does anyone remember these or know if theres somewhere that has them?

That sounds really cool! I'm sure the have some hard examples, and it would teach you how to be a better player. @GHJamesGH, if you think Pokemon is a simple game, rethink your life a little.

All I can say to this is lolwut? If Pokemon was so simple why are there so many websites, forums, threads, etc. dedicated to finding different techniques and ideas of what to do in order to counter other cards. I find Pokemon and other tcg's to be much like chess... so I suppose if you find chess and all the hundreds of techniques in that to be simple then go right ahead and call pokemon simple.

But off of that tangent I don't remember those mostly because I was only collection oriented during the base set years, though I would be interested in finding out if they were still around.

I think GHJamesGH was getting at that if you see your hand and whats on the table it should be pretty easy to figure out how to win. How many different scenarios could there be? Um... I'm going to take out Luxray GL Lv. X for the knockout. Or I'm going to warp point, attach DCE then Power Swing for the KO.

Yeah, I think it's more for fun. And should everything revolve around Luxray GL Lv. X? I'm so sick of hearing it by now. And basically it just sounds like a fun puzzle to try.

If they had something like this online (kind of like they do for chess on some sites), I'd totally love it. Sounds like fun.

dmaster out.

Well it did win worlds...

Luxray GL X has been in all 6 worlds winning decks the last 2 years. If that doesnt prove how good it is, nothing will.

Oh my god, I miss Beckett so much, I have issue upon issue in my closet...

Didn't they get sued by Pokemon company?

Yup, something about using card scans or something along those lines.

They sell Pokemon Beckett magazine's at Toys R Us, which I may start to buy if they still have those games in them.

I said I was sick of hearing about it, it's overated.

It has been in 6 World Winning Decks and you think it is Overrated? I love it when people throw around that word when they have probably never owned/used it. Although im not saying rush out and buy an $80 card to become a good player, i'm just saying it is clearly a really good card that can be teched into almost any deck.

It is NOWHERE near overrated. It is easily the most game-breaking card in the format, with ERL in a close 2nd. ERL is just way harder to pull off.

I remember how wrong they were in some issues. Like in their DBZ magazine, they got the Buu saga wrong. But I like the Japanese card translations, they were really good. Like Neo Destiny.

K, then it's overused. Happy?

Yes, but it isn't overused without reason. That's like you running a football team and not drafting one of the best players because he's "overused."

Yea, I remember those...they were done back in the days WAY before Luxray GL X stuff...We're talking no later than (I think) Neo era.

And I agree that Luxray GL X is overused...but I also understand that it is done so for a good reason. It's just like any other game out there (as an on again off again Yugioh player, I am fully familiar with this situation).

You guys are getting way off topic.

I remember Beckett, and the puzzle-things they had. I always felt cool after I solved one, lol.
