Does Palmer's contribution basically make Night Maintenance worthless?

If it was a Trainer, it would, but since it's a Supporter, NM still has its place -- especially in decks where a player plays NM and then Roseanne's/Bebe's to get back whatever it was the just NMed.

Can't do that with Palmer's.
 
To me, Palmer's in some ways can do better the NM. In Beedrill Palmer's helps out a million, and could help out in other decks. In most of my decks, I run 1 NM and 1 Palmer's as NM is a Trainer but takes out less, but Palmer's is a supporter yet takes out more. Overall, they are somewhat even, but I do think Palmer's is winning 55-45.
 
Palmer is good in the sense of you can get a whole line of pokemon to play again (1-1-1 bedrill and kingdra) and an energy and say your claydol. But then again you have to wait a turn to get them back unless you are running pokeradar or your using SP.
