Ruling Does The Effect Of Dialgia G's "Deafen" Still Work If Either Active Pokemon Retreats?

What about Darkrai Lv. X's attack? If I just use it once and I retreat Darkrai Lv. X, does my opponent still have to flip 2x in order to wake up? Thanks!

The affect of Deafen is on the opponent (not the Pokemon), sort of like Gardevoir SW's Psychic Lock. Darkrai Lv.X's attack (Endless Darkness) is an affect on the Defending Pokemon, so the only way to remove the double flip sleep is by evolving, use of Trainers, or by replacing the double flip sleep with regular sleep.

^Confusion or Paralysis would also remove it, I believe.

There are poke-powers that remove it as well.

Yes, you are correct about Confusion and Paralysis removing it because a Pokemon can only be affected by those 3 conditions one at a time.
And to name a Poke-Power that would remove it is Xatu SW and a Poke-Body that would remove it is Regigigas's Recover Mechanism.

Wow...so what about "smoke/smogscreen"? Does its effect end if the defending Pokemon retreat? Also, what about Magby?

If I use it but then retreat next turn, do my opponent's Pokemon Powers still get shut down for the remainder of my turn?

That isn't an effect on Pokemon, that is an affect on the players, therefore retreating has nothing to do with it.

Smokescreen is an effect on the pokemon, so it gets removed.

Sputter is an effect on the player, so it does not.

... I think.

Thanks guys. So basically, I only need to use Darkrai Lv. X's "Endless Sleep" attack once and if, at any time, my opponent flips 2 tails, the defending Pokemon is knocked out (even if Darkrai Lv. X is benched)?!

Yeah, the condition of being asleep placed on the Defending Pokemon by your Darkrai Lv.X is special and has nothing to do with whether or not your Darkrai is active.

I think I'm in love. :p
