this is a new deck idea i (and other people) got after seeing machamp prime

3-3 donphan prime
2-1-2-1 machamp prime
1-0-1 maggy prime (actually helps me)
2-1 uxie x
1 azelf
1 regice

T/S/S
4 Rare Candy
1 Luxury Ball
2 Expert Belt
2 Warp Point
2 Bebe's
3 Collector
3 Communication
2 Cyrus Conspiracy
4 Poke Drawer +
3 PONT
1 BTS
1 twins
3 junk arm
1 black belt

Energy
7 fighting
2 DCE

the idea is to hit hard with champ prime after damaging your bench with donphan's earthquake. i'm thinking about making the donphan line 3-3. any suggestions/comments are appreciated!

RE: DonChamp Prime

Let me ask a question:

Why do you find it necessary to run machamp in Donphan, a speed-based deck which naturally has a favorable matchup against SP and Giggles, and does decently well against everythihg else except kingdra prime, which Machamp does NOT do well against?

You're sacrificing both speed, and consistency to bolster a matchup already in your favor, and weakening your matchups against everything else, except Kingdra and Gyarados, which are handled much easier with the inclusion of an SP engine.

RE: DonChamp Prime

Donphan and machamp is great together. They both work together for a fast defense and offense. Donphan active then with enough energies switch to machamp prime for 120+ damage output. The maggy's i don't know about energy shouldnt be a big deal with donphan only needing one and machamp getting those extra by its power. No manectric. you want your bench to be damaged for Machamp to sweep in and romp. And not all Donphan players win against sp, i have seen luxray players beat donphan in shame.:(

-1-1manectric
+2 DCE
-1-1maggy
+2 BTS or candy
if you have twins why not black belt too? just a suggestion
Maybe some flygon action in there too?

RE: DonChamp Prime

I never said, or implied Donphan wins 100% of the time versus SP. Neither does straight Machamp SF, which arguably has the absolute best SP match up. I merely stated that the match up is FAVORABLE for the 'Phan player. This means that Luxchomp, generally has to work harder than normal to keep up in prizes.

Luxchomp donking, or just winning with relative ease for a variety of reasons is not outside of the realm of possibility. It's just much easier for 'Phan to obtain, and maintain the lead.

RE: DonChamp Prime

And i said not all donphan players, which means no 100%. I didnt say that . Don't put words in my mouth. i was just commenting on games and stats i have seen and compared and sp can still pull on topin most cases.

RE: DonChamp Prime

i'll take out manectric, but maggy (magnezone) prime i can get set up by turn 3 as well as everyone else. i'll try to acquire more bts's but i'll add another candy

RE: DonChamp Prime

ok i can see the magnezone but it may be hard on consistancy for 1-1. if playing like claydol run 2-2 you wont regret it and yes i skipped the stage one becuase of the candy you have. I say four candy and three bts.

RE: DonChamp Prime

1-0-1 is easy to get out for me with azelf and poke drawer +, but i shall get some more bts

and do you think i should cut the donphan line to 3-3? because after i earthquake a few times and wall, i don't really need it too much anymore

RE: DonChamp Prime

if you cut the phan line then add 1-1 magnezone , if you don't you kind of rely on way too many factors for a 1-0-1 but if it works well then stick with it :)

RE: DonChamp Prime

Id have a 3-3 Donphan. Also Machamp SF is good against SP's.
-1-1 Donphan Prime
-Everyone will disagree but -1 Machamp X
+1-0-1 Flygon
+1 Machamp SF

RE: DonChamp Prime

You're going to need the Division and the Event you plan on playing this for in the Title. Thanks.

dmaster out.

RE: DonChamp Prime

Thanks super mod we can always count on you :D Dmaster ftw

I dont disagree with the taking out machamp lv x. that things is a double edge sword and wouldnt touch it.....but the the weakness change could be critical in some games. other than that trade it for a holo energy lol. *or give it away to little kids that beat you using 30 card decks with only 50 hp pokemon.

*thank you Radar for the laughs.

I love poke drawer, but unless you are lucky or have amazing topdecks, you will rarely play 2 at the same time. Twins would be the play here, even if you would rarely fall behind (or sage's training).

(Thank you, thank you I'm here all week lol)

Good point el radar. twins can be beneficial and its easier when dealing with trainer lock then pokedrawer.

pokedrawer actually helps me a lot, and if i'm in a pinch, i'll play one, which can be retrieved later with junk arm. (and it doesn't take up my supporter for the turn)
so thinking about taking out machamp x. pros and cons of it?

^That's brilliant. Had totally forgotten about Junk Arm (*:|)

Pros: Instant KO on something. Gets rid of x2 weakness. Has an attack that MAY save it for a turn.

Cons: The body and +40 weakness essentially negate the pro of getting rid of the x2 weakness, there is a high chance that it will be revenge KO'd by anything. Same HP doesn't help.

In all honesty: either run a Machamp SF or an extra Prime. The X isn't worth it and it takes an extra turn to get out.

DCE, an extra line of machop/machoke. I think you can even take out the warp point, thanks to Machamps power.

-2 warp point
-1 Junk Arm
-1 Regice

+1 DCE
+1 machop
+1 Machoke
+1 BTS
