    4 Strong energy

Strategy:
This is a basic hit and run deck using trevenant to item lock. I use the lasers to help speed up damage because I believe this deck has a lot of potential it is just really slow

RE: Donphan/Trevenant

Quick question.. You planning to switch to Gengar-EX instead of Donphan once Phantom Forces gets released?

Anyway, you seem to be missing Startling Megaphone. Garbodor will shut down your abilities so I'd recommend at least 2 startling megaphones to get around that.

RE: Donphan/Trevenant

@ SaiScott95
Thanks for the feedback :-D
regarding your 1st suggestion i don't think switching to gengar is a good idea simply because it doesn't have fighting support and it has a pretty high attack cost

Regarding your 2nd suggestion i always forget to add megaphones thx

I would take out the Virbank laser stuff because it competes with Fighting Stadium which I believe is your Stadium of choice. Also play around with 1-2 Pokemon Fan Club. I didn't really like it at first, but I found in a deck like this, it's almost always a decent Supporter to play if you aren't hurting for anything in particular. It helps keep the stream of Trevenants going. That's for sure.

@Mora

Thx for the input I will definetly play around w/ fan club but after testing I found that lasers help speed up the match

Why don't you just play Muscle Band / Silver Bangle instead? Since it's basically the same thing in just one card, it would be more consistent and efficient than Laserbank. (I just noticed you don't play those.)

@Mora

...I wrote this list in school today, and forgot the muscle Bands thx 4 pointing it out I actually play 2 muscle bands and 2 lasers

Have you ever considered utilizing Trevenant as an attacker too? I found that particular deck variant a bit more effective, especially against opponents who are also running some type of Item-lock capability (suggest you playtest a lot against Seismitoad decks).

@TuxedoBlack

Thx for the response, no I actually haven't thought of using trevenant as as attacker but I think it is alot safer to just attack w/ donphan

I honestly don't think it's an autoloss. Firstly, it isn't like they can laser you, or attach a tool to their Garbodor, and Donphan does a considerable amount of damage on his own. Sure, if he's Lysandre'd you'll be in a bit of a pickle, but that's always the case with this deck. I honestly don't think it's that bad of a matchup if you don't attack with Trevenant.

But there is another reason to attack with Trevenant: Plasma. If Plasma is huge in your area, all you need to do is start Phantump, evolve into Trevenant and attach a Silver Mirror. Then you just bide your time until you can get that one-of Psychic energy that you could run and go from there.

I understand your points, but from my experience in recent tournaments, I've noticed that most players will just Lysandre an opponent's non-Trevenant Poké (in many cases, it's the Donphan) to the defending Pokémon's position, then just play his/her Items, and/or KO the Donphan. Of the 4 (not many, granted; they were seemingly "1-sided" matches in favor of the Seismitoad deck player) matchups (Seismitoad vs. Donphan) I've observed/played in, the Donphan players lost all games.

Personally, I want to take full advantage of all Poké in a deck, as much as "reasonably possible." IMO, Trevenant's Tree Slam attack of 60-20-20 damage is just too good for me, at least, to forgo.

Then you'll accept the "autoloss" to Seismitoad decks then?

The only deck I have playtested against was seismetoad and I feel like if I can item lock first and stop garbodor from ever coming into okay I can easily win

thx for your suggestions Plasma isn't played that much in my area and I still feel as though the psychic energy aren't worth it

Traveled to a LC up in Kansas City this weekend... 1st place deck was a donphan/trevenant/hawlucha deck. In competing for the 1st slot, the player played against 3 Seismitoad decks (2 with garb and 1 with pyroar)... all three of them were taken out.

edit: BTW, trevenant was never used as an attacker. Just set out in the active with a float stone after rapid spinning the donphan.

Props to the winner; nice results. BUT, was that LC just best 1 of 1, 30 minute matches or best of 3, 50 minute matches? Makes a big difference if only playing single game matches.

Even in 30 minute game matches, I've yet to lose to a player running Donphan-Trevenant when I run my Seismitoad deck. This may largely be due to the extensive amount of play-testing we do in my area, let alone the hours devoted to deck and match-up discussions.
