My best friend just commented on how b0rk3n the DP-on cards have been compare to the sets before it. He keeps on comparing the ex's with the Lv.X's and says that the Lv.X's shoulds also have a 2 prize card reward for being knocked out. Honestly, what do you think of this? I don't know myself, it's quite too hard to think about...

LVX's are way harder to play as Ex's because you need a specific setup for them. Guy clearly doesn't know his stuff. Altho it is true that DP-On cards are generally better....but in previous format, DF, HP and LM dominated over the DX, UF and EM stuff as well.

The two prize cost for losing an Ex was probably the worst thing to happen to the game. It made games that included Ex's go by too quickly, and rendered most Ex's virtually unplayable. Personally, I only use one Lv. X (Gardevoir), but I'd still be somewhat upset if it was decided that the two-prize rule came back.

The two prize thing was just a stupid way of trying to make the game more even. I do like how Lv.X's don't have that rule. And since they're hard to play, it evens it up a little.

Not only you or your opponent can take 2 prizes when a pokemon-ex is KOed, you can't even attach a DRE or Scramble to Pokemon-ex, which is kinda bad as we have to charge it, slowly. That is the downfall of the pokemon-ex IMO...

Hmmm, six have voted for DP-on...2 for pre-DP...I'll give this poll some more time.

As far as game balance goes, I consider Level X's far better than ex's. Some were just stupidly overpowered -- like, say, Flygon ex d, maybe? 150 HP and no weakness? Also, Rayquaza ex d wins my award for Most Annoying Card In Format. Nothing like having a Poke-Body that's basically a built-in Scramble Energy.

Level X's are strong, as they should be, but I have yet to see one I'd call game-breaking. Nor are they a requirement to have an effective deck in the current format. Basically the exact opposite of ex's.
