Hey everyone! A couple nights ago I was looking through my BREAKthrough cards and stumbled across a playset of the new Ursaring. With its first attack having a Lysandre effect, and it being able to take advantage of the Eeveelutions, I decided to try making something with it! It's probably not super competitive but surprisingly, it fares quite well against Night March, Vespiquen, and Giratina too.
EDIT: Changed list from Xerneas acceleration to Yveltal
Pokemon: 16
An ideal start for this deck is an Yveltal in the active and a Teddiursa, Eevee, and a second Teddirsa (Or Mewtwo if against Psychic/Fighting) on the bench. Oblivion Wing to an attacker, and evolve your Eevee based on the opponent's deck (Jolteon for the free retreat if they aren't weak to any of them).
This deck thrives against Shaymin, Bats, Stage 1/2 decks, and it can put a huge dent in Lugia as well. With Jolteon in play, a Muscle Banded Ursaring can pull up and OHKO a Shaymin for 3 energy. In a pinch you can attach a 4th energy and its second attack can do 100, 140, or 180 damage with Muscle Band.
Problems/Thoughts/Etc:
To put it lightly, this deck struggles against Fighting and M Mewtwo Y decks. I SOOO desperately want to squeeze Golurk into this since it hits both of those for weakness (as well as Manectric!) and isn't weak to Psychic types. It just heavily competes for space with Yveltal and the two other stage 1 lines. If there's a way to fit Golurk in that I'm missing, by all means I'm all ears!
I've also experimented with various other energy acceleration methods. Landorus allowed me to use Cresselia instead of Mewtwo, but the single attachment and low damage bothered me. Xerneas and Yveltal was pretty nice, as Fairy garden allowed free retreat, but did nothing to help the Fighting weakness. Bronzong lets me attach energy consistently lategame but is slower to set up, needs Switch and competes for bench space. Lastly, Flareon/Blacksmith required both Flareon and Ursaring to be evolved before I could even start accelerating, and sometimes I wanted Jolteon out more than Flareon.
This deck is lots of fun to play when it gets going but it seems like 75% of the decks I'm paired against on PTCGO right now are Fighting or Mewtwo decks. I also have no idea how good this would be against Mega Manectric. If anyone has any ideas on how to make this more consistent or stand a chance against these decks, I'm all ears!
