Dragon Energy (Special)

Well guys, I'm fairly interested in the new type coming to the TCG. The Dragon type shows promising success as a type, and as Dragons, should be incredibly powerful.

Special Energy cards are among my favorite cards in the game, especially the type-specific ones like Metal Energy and Darkness Energy. My first assumption about the new Dragon type is that they will most definitely get a Special Energy card. As I thought about this, I couldn't help but brainstorm what this Dragon Energy (Special) would do. So here's what I got so far:

Dragon Energy
Special Energy Card
Attacks of the Pokemon that Dragon Energy is attached to aren't affected by Weakness, Resistance, or Poke-Abilities. Ignore this effect if the Pokemon that Dragon Energy is attached to isn't (Dragon) Type. Dragon Energy provides (Dragon) Energy.

Dragon Energy
Special Energy Card
A Pokemon attached with Dragon Energy has no Weakness or Resistance. Ignore this effect if the Pokemon that Dragon Energy is attached to isn't (Dragon) Type. Dragon Energy provides (Dragon) Energy.

Dragon Energy
Special Energy Card
When a monster that Dragon Energy is attached to attacks, you may flip a coin. If heads, that attack does 10 more damage. When a monster that Dragon Energy is attached to is damaged, you may flip a coin. If heads, reduce that damage by 10. Ignore these effects if the Pokemon that Dragon Energy is attached to isn't (Dragon) Type. Dragon Energy provides (Dragon) Energy.

Dragon Energy
Special Energy Card
A Pokemon that Dragon Energy is attached cannot get a Special Condition. Ignore this effect if the Pokemon that Dragon Energy is attached to isn't (Dragon) Type. Dragon Energy provides (Dragon) Energy.

Dragon Energy
Special Energy Card
During any of your turns, you may make this card provide (Dragon)(Dragon)(Dragon) Energy. Ignore this effect if the Pokemon that Dragon Energy is attached to isn't (Dragon) Type. Discard this card at the end of your turn if you used this effect. Dragon Energy provides (Dragon) Energy.

Dragon Energy
Special Energy Card
If the Pokemon that Dragon Energy is attached to attacks and damages the Defending Pokemon, you may draw 1 card. If the card you drew was a (Dragon) Energy, you may draw 1 more card. Ignore this effect if the Pokemon that Dragon Energy is attached to isn't (Dragon) Type. Dragon Energy provides (Dragon) Energy.

Dragon Energy
Special Energy Card
If the Pokemon that Dragon Energy is attached to attacks and damages the Defending Pokemon, you may discard this card. If you do, increase the damage of that attack by 20. Ignore this effect if the Pokemon Dragon Energy is attached to isn't (Dragon) Type. Dragon Energy provides (Dragon) Energy.

Dragon Energy
Special Energy Card
If the Pokemon that Dragon Energy is attached to is (Dragon) Type, it can use this attack.

(Dragon) Dragon Rage 30
This attack's damage isn't affected by Weakness or Resistance.

Dragon Energy provides (Dragon) Energy.

Dragon Energy
Special Energy Card
If the Pokemon that Dragon Energy is attached to attacks and damages the Defending Pokemon, you may flip a coin. If heads, discard an Energy attached to the Defending Pokemon. Ignore this effect if the Pokemon Dragon Energy is attached to isn't (Dragon) Type. Dragon Energy provides (Dragon) Energy.

Dragon Energy
Special Energy Card
A Pokemon that Dragon Energy is attached to pays (Colorless) less to Retreat for each (Dragon) Energy attached to it. Ignore this effect if the Pokemon Dragon Energy is attached to isn't (Dragon) Type. Dragon Energy provides (Dragon) Energy.

Lemme know which ones are good, bad, and if there are any technical grammar errors in these, and if so correct them for me in a post. I wanna see which, of the mentioned Special Energy cards, would be most desirable in the game.

If you would, quote your favorites in your post, please. Thanks!

I made a fake card earlier because I was so interested! Here it is:
Dragonite 150 HP [A]

[A] Raging Blast 40x
This attack does 40 damage times the number of [A] energy in play not attatched to this Pokemon. If more than 3 [A] energy are used in the effects of this attack, discard 3 [A] energy in play.

[A][C][C] Quick Ram 90
During your next turn, this Pokemon's retreat cost is 0.

Weakness: [A]x2
Resistance: [F]-20
Retreat Cost: [C][C][C]

Oh, and btw [A] is Dragon energy, because D is Dark, and because the symbol for Dragon types is gold, that's the next letter. G is Grass. Au is gold's abbreviation, and aurum is latin for gold.

Interesting! Raging Blast seems all too abusable though, to be honest. It's effect would actually work if your opponent's Pokemon in play had any (Dragon) Energy attached to it. Not only that, but you would be able to discard those (Dragon) Energy attached to your opponent's Pokemon. Worse yet is the massive damage you can cause for little cost, you could modulate your (Dragon) Energy to make Dragonite a 1-Energy attacker, simply by putting 1 (Dragon) Energy on your Dragonite and 1 (Dragon) Energy on a Benched Pokemon of yours. This would allow you to deal 80 damage with... 1 (Dragon) Energy and a little bit of setup. This definitely makes Raging Blast overpowered.

It's other attack, however, is good and understandable.

Now I would ask you to please remain on the Thread Topic and follow the instructions in the OP if you want to post, please.

To reiterate, I would like you to quote your favorite Dragon Energy card(s) in the OP, tell me which ones are good/bad, correct a Dragon Energy card(s) in the OP, or suggest a new Dragon Energy card(s). Thanks!

I loved the Energy cards! If I were any better in making Special Energy cards, I'd totally make some of them for you. The one that let's you provide 3 Energy is sooo wicked!

I'd have the special energy as this.

Dragonic energy
Special energy card
Text: this card provides 1 (dragon) energy.

if attached to a (dragon) type card, you may activate this effect when attacking:, the attack does +10 damage for each damage counter on the attached pokemon. Discard this card after you deal damage this way.

yes, I did just put outrage onto an energy card.
But aren't dragons meant to be really powerful anyway?

Here are 2 more I made today (the numbers are ther because I copied it from my Pastebin):

1.Kingdra 140 HP [A]
2.
3.[W][C]Scalding Steam 30
4.The Defending Pokemon is now Burned. Put 5 damage counters instead of 2 on that Pokemon between turns.
5.
6.[A][C][C] Violent Thrash 100+
7.This attack does 100 damage plus 10 more damage for each Prize Card that your opponent has taken.
8.
9.Weakness: [A]x2
10.Resistance: [R]-20
11.Retreat Cost: [C]
12.
13.
14.
15.
16.Flygon 140 HP [A]
17.
18.[F][F] Summon Storm 60
19.This attack does 20 damage to each of your opponent's Benched Pokemon. (Don't apply weakness and resistance for Benched Pokemon.)
20.
21.[A][A][C] Last Resort 150
22.This Pokemon does 50 damage to itself and can't attack during your next turn.
23.
24.Weakness: [A]x2
25.Resistance: [L]-20
26.Retreat Cost [ ]

And before I forget, my fave Dragon Energy that you made is the one that prevents special conditions. That's really useful. Not to mention the 3 energy one. That's a little OP.

Looks like I've got some feedback on this one.

Admittedly, I thought it was quite powerful as well, too powerful in fact. I tried to balance the card by forcing it to discard at the end of the turn that you use it. It's almost like a 1-turn Triple (Dragon) Energy.

Wicked indeed, but is there a better way to balance this card? I would say to make this card provide (Dragon)(Dragon) Energy for a single turn then to be discarded, but that just seems too odd and not really worth pitching the Energy.

@Wuji: I actually went and looked at your thread, nice creations!

@27th: That is actually really cool. And you're right, you put Outrage into the Dragon Energy, which is actually really cool. After all, I made one of the Dragon Energy let the Pokemon use Dragon Rage.

Would be an awesome yet slightly realistic special energy card.

Nice Dragon card spoilers ( well, maybe except for Kingdra's resistance, but that is my opinion).

Maybe a double colorless for dragon type?? or would that be sort of going overboard??

I must say all those effects Dragon Energy may have are really interesting, although you haven't considered that since it's a Special Energy like Metal or Darkness, it'll have a stackable effect... considering that most dragons are kinda heavy and have large retreat cost, reducing 1 Colorless per Special Dragon Energy seems really fine. I am really excited about Dragon Type to come out, interesting decks will center around Dragon Type.
