Dragonite EX Deck?

So I saw Dragonite, and I see that its cheap, so I kinda want to run it. So is it stil good, and does Primal Clash help it out? I know that I have to run Virizion EX but ill only run 1 or 2 as it is quite expensive. Anyway, will this deck be competitive? Help would be awesome .

I haven't tested it, so I'm not sure how it would work, but Illumise from primal clash seems like the perfect card for the deck. It can get more energy into play with helping hand and it's common, so it should be cheap.

At the Michigan State tournament there was a woman running a Dragonite EX/ Virizion EX/ some electric attacker (I wasnt really paying attention) deck that did pretty well. Last I saw she was 4-2.

Dragonite / Manectric has seen some success. Personally I'm not a fan of the card because it's a little clunky and its damage output isn't going to one-shot anything. However, Dragonite-EX does have a niche role. You can exploit its Ability Bust In by using AZ / Super Scoop Up to remove your damaged Dragonite from the field and keep energy in play. The problem with this strategy is that Garbodor is seeing lots of play now, and shutting off Abilities means you can't rely on that. I think it can be a competitive deck is played correctly, and in the right environment where both Garbodor and OHKO decks like Night March aren't prevelant. It might see more play next season, once key components of the decks I mentioned rotate.

That in mind, I do not want to discourage you from playing Dragonite-EX if you think it will be viable. If you come up with a list that you're thinking about running, you can post it in the Deck Garage for critique and feedback from other players. I wish you the best of luck!
