Eevee icon DnD (1).png Well, it's really only intimidating if there's something dangerous about them, but if you're scared, lemme let you in on a secret. That's all they do. Nothing to worry about... I think.
 
Suddenly aware that it isn't every day statues decide to glow on their own, Cuitefly and Duskull inspect the statue Vulpix is carrying. Cutiefly touches it, and the flowing fades. A rune that Duskull recognizes to mean "KEY" appears on the side of it.
From the path the group just emerged from, a new sound can be heard. As though a heavy door was opening. Should they go back to inspect it? Can they?

So this happened when someone *bounce* used Arcana on the glowing statue. We went back to take a look but couldn't find anything, but it's pretty obvious something was there. If we're a bit too leery of the path ahead and we can't all fit into the lake (bouncing and water doesn't mix) I do think it might be worth a little more careful investigation.

While we wait for the lake monster to get closer, @Keeper of Night I use Arcana once again on the statue.
 
@Keeper of Night I'd like to borrow the Key statue and wave it along the passage we just came down to see if I can detect anything related to that door sound we heard earlier.

oh some pokes are at the lake already? i would like to float off in that direction too @Keeper of Night , and have a look around using my gleam for light and my mage-y arcana thingies.
 
TSM has dropped. Ignore anything that may or may not look like a Trapinch corpse being dragged away into the shadows.
Also wow so many people just like tanked in activity. Our party may be getting real small real quick. But we'll determine that after a few phases.

I sprint back to the lake and wait for whatever is making the noise to come back ready for a fight
Bagon rushes back toward the lakeside, on the lookout for whatever was making that splashing sound.

I advance over the lake, freezing more as I go.
Vulpix continues to freeze the water's surface, creating a path along the lake. As she continue forward she hits a wall. The lake doesn't seem to go further in this direction.
To her right the lake continues, but it seems to extend further past where the dry path departs.
To her right, the lake continues as well, far past where they had entered from. That seems to be the direction the sound from earlier came from.


While we wait for the lake monster to get closer, @Keeper of Night I use Arcana once again on the statue.
Note that Arcana is automatically used whenever a mage touches an item. I wouldn't make you guys miss something just because you didn't submit that specific of an action for it.

Duskull again examines the small statue. Nothing of note appears to happen.

Spoink grabs the statue back from Duskull and bounces around the cavern with it. Nothing happens.

Cutiefly flies over to where Vulpix has hit her dead-end, and lights the area. They can't make out anything new, however.

A vicious splash occurs to their left. If it gets any closer, it would be right on top of them...

Sneasel looks around the area. Nothing stands out to him in the room or across the lake.

I don't completely understand the layout, but I'll keep going in direction of the splashing. Maybe something will happen.
