everypoké knows the needle always points north tho (unless there is like, a metagross standing beside it). so the needle points north and out the entrance, the back wall is due south and not attracting anything .. correct?

Usually, and this may just be me, a compass has a single needle that points both North and South, that's all I meant by that statement. The needle was indicating that the back of the cave was South. There's really nothing further to read into it.

Cutiefly examines the note further. But, unlike the previous notes, there was no symbol on the back. There was no signature either. Other than the odd question it imposed, the note seemed completely blank.

Torchic raises his hand as if in vote. He then realizes he has no hands. Torchic begins to have an existential crisis.

A low growl, almost like thunder, resonates through the cave walls. Whatever it is, it's close.

Guess I'll throw some tags out there. Everyone chose to head for the mountain and then activity tanked. Which I totally get, long game. But, uh, it's only longer if we don't keep moving forward.

The group of Pokemon, seeming to get smaller by the hour, abandoned the puzzle in front of them. They didn't have time for this, the sun was moving across the sky and they had to continue their trek. The peak of the mountain was their destination. They decided to leave the cave.

As they turned to do so, they saw a figure blocking the entrance. Against the dim light of the setting sun, they could already tell it wasn't happy to see them. A giant red crocodilian Pokemon, snarling and snapping it's giant maw. Krookodile let out a furious roar, but stood still, staring.

This isn't our first "crocodile" encounter.. Are Krookodiles the "red figures" we saw earlier?
So the Krookodiles are here to expand the land mass while the Ferraligators are here to expand the sea. At least that's my theory.

So, do we seek a peaceful solution with the Krookodile, or should we eat it for dinner? I, for one, have been snatched away from my family and home without much of a reason or excuse and dropped off in the middle of nowhere to just endlessly walk through caves and plains for what seems like someone's sick and very boring amusement, and am tired, hungry, sleepy, bored, in just a terrible mood, again, away from my family, and haven't had an intelligent conversation with anyone in what feels like forever.
