Hi Guys,
Im not sure if this has been done but would it be a good idea for people who sell on ebay post their user name on pokebeach and their ebay user ID so we know who on here is on ebay.

Mine is darth_stack.

Not sure if this thread will be closed since we're advertising ourselves but I'm bagoly14 here and pokemonpacific on Ebay. I HATE Ebay, 11% is such a ripoff *insert much needed angry face emoticon here*

im not meaning this for promotion im just curious and when I buy id rather help this community out

Yeah I know what you mean. I only hang out on the beach even though the people who would buy my cards are more on UPCCC technically. I like the beach more, better site layout and laid back community.

It's another pokemon forum, but it has a lot of high end collectors. They are into rare cards like Daisuki cards, graded cards, etc...Like I said, I stick to the beach, I like it here. Nothing against upccc but sometimes I feel it's a bit too intense over there.

Yeah, this site is a lot more relaxed. The staff are consistant, and generally everything runs smoothly the members are a lot more friendly. Though i'm not sure the thread will stay open , but I like your idea.

P.S. Current final value fees are at 10%.

Listing in the trading card category puts you under the "other" section which has a rate of 11% final value fee. Paypal further deducts 2.9% + 0.30$ USD.

That is nearly 14% after you have completed a sale on Ebay. There are cheaper alternatives to Paypal as well but nobody uses them yet. In Japan they don't even have fees like this, everything is straight wire transfer through the bank and yahoo japan does not charge listing or selling fees (up to a certain point) - they don't even know what Paypal is so us paying 14% is ridiculous imho.

To be honest i dont think there is anymore other than craigslist or useing word of mouth

Try having a ebay bill $365.83 for the month I near fell over lol

I can't tell if this is a serious question or sarcasm...If you are referring to selling on the beach then I agree that it is a place that only has paypal fees but I will likely never be a registered seller here since I will likely never meet the requirements:

You have to be registered as a member of this site for 2 months minimum and have shown activity in the Trading Corner section of the forums. A moderator will review the forum and look for posts you have made.
- A minimum of 8 positive reps from 8 different traders (unique reps) are needed to apply, however the more you have accumulated before applying gives you a better chance of being approved.

I will probably be a member 3 years later, have my own website, and still not be approved. I find trading to be tedious, I'd rather sell than trade. I wish there was some other criteria than trades for selling on these forums. :(

Yeah, there are other places to sell other than eBay, I have been trying but most people don't want to buy outside Ebay or Amazon.

You can sell other places than eBay, but no other site has the popularity and buyer base that eBay does. Sure, paying up to 14% of your sales sucks, but you can work to reduce some of that. For example, I get a 20% reduction on Final Value Fees for being a Top Rated Seller.

Also, on Yahoo! Japan auctions, the "straight wire transfer" still costs money. Sure, it's usually no more than 400 Yen, but it's not free.
However, I do agree that 14% is ridiculous. That's a nice percentage if eBay was just starting up, but they have been around for years. And millions of items go through their system daily. They have no need to charge that much, let alone raise the percent. Especially since eBay also owns Paypal.

I agree with everything you just said.
