EDIT!: Sunday, 1/20, Lucario and Jigglypuff in SSBB, More SSBB News - Darkrai a Poke Ball Item Pokem

Well Jigglypuff was in the first two games so it's no surprise that it's in this one as for Lucario replacing Mewtwo it would be really bad but it wasn't in the first game and the did give us Sonic and Bowser.
 
OMG. Three new characters are sure to be in. Lucario and Jigglypuff being in was almost assured by all. Jigglypuff is a series mainstay, while there has been many hints on Lucario being in. Voice Actor anyone? I am completely suprised that Ness is now in. All the sayings of Sakurai hinted that he would not be in. I'm sooooo suprised and joyously happy at the same time. No on to the Pokeballs: I guess that it't true that Darkrai and Eevee are Pokeball Pokemon. That brings the list to like 40 Pokemon in the game. Seriously, there seems to be a lot of Pokemon related items in this version of Smash Bros. Thanks for the much needed confirmation on the characters and Pokeball Pokemon, WPM.

If you check it has a little space after jiglypuff. It could be Mewtwo? Mewtwo can be in the game they don't show it because at this point is not unlocked
 
This doesn't necessarily exlude Mewtwo from Brawl. This could be just a list of playable characters from the start of the game. Mewtwo could be unlockable. There's almsot no chance for Pichu, as he's a clone of Pikachu.

yay but then that would make 5 playable pokemon characters, one more than last year, i guess that could be the reason

^ We all know Jiggly will have to be unlocked, or they'd be breaking the chain and they'd get A LOT of hatemail :O

But he doesn't necessarily have to have unlocked every single character, mewtwo can still be in, Pokémon being one of Nintendo's biggest success stories.
 
That's what I said. Mewtwo can be in, but it must be situational. Jiggly being shown makes it clear that it's a playable character. I just think that since they know that they're going to have Jigglypuff and they're maybe deciding on Mewtwo, they might just add Jigly as playable in the beginning. That's just my thoughts though. We'll soon see if/when Sakurai posts it.

Mewtwo AND Lucario seems a little much! But it could be possible! Glad to see Lucrio! That will be a fun character to play!
 
Lucario will be great! Now we just need Mewtwo, hopefully more powerful. Brawl looks so awesome, just can't wait for it.

When I first learned about the leak, I was able to see the proof that Ness was in on the Wii.com JP site, along with Jigglypuff and Lucario. While the video was taken down, it had already been downloaded and uploaded again on YouTube, showing the leaked characters. You can view that video here. Look carefully around the 4:20 mark to see the icons.

Now, I haven't been following Smash Bros updates too much, and was just waiting/hoping for one thing, the conformation of Jigglypuff being back. I am now happy.
But, for the Poké Ball items, Darkrai? Cherim? Darkrai I can understand, but Cherim? Honestly, I would prefer to have seen Bellsprout from a Poké Ball. However, could be good.

jayjaymew has a point. It's possible that Mewtwo just can't use that sticker.

Also, my brother suggested that Mewtwo wasn't unlocked, and perhaps that's why he was absent from the photo.

Me too. I think that Mewtwo is not unlocked a this point. But Sakurai has much suprise and he can says that mewtwo is removed and not Pichu (i hate Sakurai if he does that!) Or he can says that mewtwo was remplaced by Lucario and Pichu by P.trainer. But you are right
he not unlocked at this point. Also Mewtwo was populary in time were Melee was comming.
 
Qw have been talking about these 2 characters in my thread for a very loooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnngggggggggggg time now and they are finally confirmed well almost anyway. I game glad Jigglypuff and Lucario made it. I just hope Mewtwo and Pichu make it. Remember Jigglypuff was not supposed to be in the game. Now he is a possibility sweet.:)
