So it doesn't count like he died just he was about to die rigth?

It says that if Electrode would be KNOCKED OUT by an attack... Electrode isn't discarded...

It simply means that Electrode is knocked out but he is not discarded into the discard pile...
 
It's kind of ambiguous, but I'm pretty sure that it does count as a KO and your opponent takes a prize. I believe it would explicitly say if it didn't count as a KO (cf. any fossil, Walrein MT). On the other hand, it doesn't say it does count, either (cf. Ho-Oh SW). But "counts as KO" is my first guess.

It would count as a KO unless strictly stated otherwise. And as doing 100 damage to itself is side damage from its own attack, it would activate his affect and allow you to attach him to a benched pokemon.
