Just so you guys know, I am new to this. My deck probably won't be good, and neither my formatting of this post. I apologize in advance.

Honestly, I know this deck is really bad with energy. I also would like suggestions not only to make the deck better, but to make the deck a competitive deck for standard format. Thank you for taking the time to help a rook like me!

RE: Emboakrom (Emboar / Zekrom) looking to change cards to make BCR+

With a few tweaks, this deck could make a great emboar/Camerupt EX deck. You need to switch the emboar line with the LTR Emboar line

First off, take out the electric type stuff:
-1 Zekrom
-1 Rayquaza
-3 Electric Energy
-1 Rough seas

Then, the stuff pre-BCR:
-2 Technical Machine TS-1
-2 Cilan
-1 Night Maintenance
-1 Flower Shop Lady
-1 Giant Cape
-1 Rival
-1 Felicity's Drawing
-1 Burned Tower
-1 Professor Elm's Training Method
-1-1-1 Chandelure line

Then I suggest switching Cheren for N.

That leaves you with 20 open slots for:
+3 Camerupt EX
+2 Rare Candy
+2 Professor's Letter
+3 Ultra Ball
+2 Blacksmith
+3 VS Seeker
+2 Lysandre
+2 Startling Megaphone
+1 Computer Search

Hope I helped!

Wow, I didn't know I was that close. That was just cards I found in my collection so I'm happy. Also can anyone say why decks have to be monotype or almost every type? It's not just joshawott8055, but whenever I look up deck building on the interwebs they either say one type or almost all types in a deck.
Edit: Also thanks that did help.

Well, most of the time its all about consistency. When you play a monotype deck chances are higher drawing the energy you need instead of hoping to get the Lightning Energy to attack with Rayquaza next turn if you would only play 3.
Some decks play "tech"Pokemon like Virizion EX in some Plasma Lugia just for the ability to shut down Hypnotoxic Lasers, when your active Pokemon has a Multi/Rainbow Energy attached to it. In these types of decks you may find many different Pokemon types but they are meant to be "benchsitters" most of the time. But decks with Multi/Rainbow Energy have the option to attack with an Emerald Slash for example if it is really needed :p

But with all the ways to get into my deck why would I need that consistency. If I can just search my deck for energy there appears to be no point to having just one type
