Guiding questions:
1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?
3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
5. How's the artwork?

Posts MUST be several sentences long with proper grammar and spelling or they will be deleted - this forum is to discuss specific cards so other people can learn about their potential in the current metagame.

5. How's the artwork?

1. It can't stand on its own, but it is a perfect tech. It is worth being played. It have potential. Its like gatr prime's rain dance, but this could attach fire energy to ANY pokemon.
2. Reshiram, shuckle+magmortar etc. This aims to sweep through. best i've seen will be magnezone and reshiram.
3. like 2, reshiram, magnezone etc. It is due to their heavy blow damage, but needing only energies to whack hard.
4. I give it simple 4.8/5 . It is due to its ability which allows it to attach fire energy as often as you like at any pokemon, so normally it can whack really hard with magnezone. Its only problem is 4 retreat cost, which we must fear for reversals there.
5. Artwork is cool, with the dancing boar standing there :p

Edit : 1st one!

1. On its own, it wouldn't be that great. It would be able to charge itself up quickly, but it'd be extremely slow.
2. It can be teched into anything fire. Ninetails would pair with it. Magnezone Prime pairs with it, as does Shuckle. The Magmortar that discards a card off the top of your opponent's deck for each {R} energy attatched to it would do well with Emboar.
3. Reshiram can hit for 120 every turn, Shuckle can be used to draw cards. Magnezone can toss energies everywhere. It has a lot it can pair with.
4. 8.5/10. The only major drawback is that Emboar is a tad slow. With Broken Time-Space possibly rotating, and the new ruling on Rare Candy, it isn't as easy to get out as it once was. The retreat cost can be played around with Switch or Warp Point, but 4 Retreat isn't doing it any favors.
5. The artwork is fairly plain. Could have been better, IMO, but it isn't terrible. 7/10.

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
An overall worth-while card,it has good potential, but definetly needs support.

2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?
Reshiram is probably the best, and emboar deck also holds potential

3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
Using its ability, it could support heavy dealers like reshiram and its deck alternate, and make itself more useable as well.

4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
4, due to its good ability and attack, but terrible retreat cost.

5. How's the artwork?
5ban hasn't let us down yet, and it shows through this card.

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
This card like most can't do very well on there own, and this card has lots of potential, esp in fire/energy heavy. Emboar has plenty of potential.
2. What popular metagame decks could it be used in?
Mainly fire and energy heavy decks, like Reshiram and the other emboar (Fire Blitz for 150 for 4 energy), and like others have said, Emboar would work in quite a few of the energy demanding decks and aren't picky about energy.
3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
>Reshiram/Emboar(with both emboars): Low energy cost for the high damage it delivers.
>Magnezone/Emboar: Energy Supply and Slam for a good amount of damage every turn so long as you can keep the energy refreshed.
>Emboar(with both Emboars)/Typlosion: Energy discard and recover.
4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
This card has plenty of potential and will fit its way into many very good decks. I rate this card 4-4.5/5, as this card doesn't do very well on its own until you give it a good back bone, and i will be seeing more and more of them.
5. How's the artwork?
Could be better, this picture is missing something like a spark, this picture needs more, 3/5.
