Strategy
Fairly basic Empoleon deck with Dusknoir in it, with a bit of a twist. Accelgor works very well with Dusknoir, putting more damage on the board and paralyzing their active. This can give you more time to set up early game, and late game you can stream the Deck and Cover attack using diving draw from multiple Empoleon. My supporter line is fairly thin, but it's worked out for me. I don't quite have the deck space for more, and once an Empoleon or two is going, a lot of the time supporters won't be needed. Colress is great for Late or even mid game. Juniper is basically a dead draw once an Empoleon or two gets up.

Disregard all of the Accelgor stuff, cause I replaced him with Leafeon. Leafeon deals high amounts of damage to a lot of decks that give Empoleon trouble, making a lot of matchups much better.

Changes
-2 Accelgor
-2 Shelmet
-3 DCE

+2 Leafeon
+2 Eevee
+1 Water

I'm just looking for comments or any insights on this. Thanks in advance.

NO. JUST NO. You NEED junipers. they are to good to be without, and if you play accelgor, you don't need them. You also need bangle. It adds the ooph that you need. Jirachi is for consistency, and adds damage for Empoleon. Silver mirror for plasma, and really helps. But maybe one less escape rope and water for 2 virbanks.

RE: Empoleon/Dusknoir/Accelgor

I run Shauna in my Empoleon/Dusknoir deck over Juniper because I don't want to risk sending Rare Candies to my discard pile while not being able to search them out with Skyla later on when I need them the most. It hurt me badly when I played against Darkrai at League Challenge when I had a lone Piplup with a water attached as I attempt to Skyla for Rare Candy only to find out that the other Rare Candies I was forced to discard with Juniper were in my discard pile. This is what happens when you deplete valuable resources in hand for drawpower which is why we need more shuffle draw supporters like Shauna in the current format when all we had before was N and Colress.

Since I failed to find a Rare Candy with Skyla my opponent only had 1 prize left compared to my 2 remaining with my opponent's Darkrai active ready to sweep for game. He kept gaining prizes by knocking out my Empoleon's and I kept using Rare Candy to get more setup in the process although this was back when I wasn't running Level Ball for that consistency I needed at the time let alone Max Potion which I'm not sure If I had space for. As for OblivionDvdr's Empoleon/Dusknoir/Accelgor deck, I don't know why I suggested Hypnotoxic Laser over Silver Bangle since I thought Hypnotoxic Laser would have some synergy with Accelgor but I was wrong so keep those in although I still think a 4th Skyla and a Professor's Letter is needed in here for energy consistency.

I haven't tested Jirachi in my build although I've mainly been running Terrakion for Retaliate and Landorus EX for spreading damage around to utilize with Dusknoir's Sinister Hand ability. Accelgor seems like an interesting choice for Empoleon over Leafeon but how do you deal with Blastoise and If you're not running either Terrakion or Landorus EX then how do you get around Darkrai especially Yveltal? Jirachi could have potential against Fairies depending on how consistent the deck is which from what I've heard in terms of playtesting isn't at the moment. As for that matchup against Darkrai I was still ahead on the prize trade off but wasn't able to pull a win out of my butt because of Juniper.

RE: Empoleon/Dusknoir/Accelgor

If you play 4 candies and dowsing, you should ALWAYS have a candy, or a way to get one.

RE: Empoleon/Dusknoir/Accelgor

I am usually very, very cautious about discarding my candies. I will only ever discard 1 in a game, and that pushes it sometimes too.

As for the blastiose matchup, they don't really want to be using BKEX because it'll just waste their energy, and if they use Keldeo I can 1 shot them with Accelgor with a bangle (50+30)*2+10 (poison)=170. It's a good surprise against blastiose players.

Just out of curiosity, what is your strategy for those players running Virizion EX or Slurpuff techs? These Poké will nullify Accelgor's attack effects.

Also, from my experience in building and running a similar deck, I found Leafeon (PF) was a far GREATER asset than Accelgor (which I tested too). I'd suggest replacing the Accelgor lines with Leafeon lines; and by the way, you just picked up 3 card slots in doing so (you'll not need the DCEs).

RE: Empoleon/Dusknoir/Accelgor

I have played against some Virizion decks, to deal with them I jus attack with Empoleon and use Dusknoir's ability. I've considered Leafeon, and am definitely willing to give him a go; Accelgor just combos very nicely with Dusknoir. What would you suggest for those extra slots that the DCEs take up right now?

RE: Empoleon/Dusknoir/Accelgor

What I found about Leafeon is that it will get more damage counters in play (consider Darkrai, Blastoise, RayBoar, etc.) faster vs. Accelgor; and Accelgor's paralysis "lock" is very temporary since so many decks now can counter it.

For the 3 extra slots, consider adding another Tool Scrapper, MuscleBand/Silver Bangle and a Professor's Letter or 2 W and a Professor's Letter.

RE: Empoleon/Dusknoir/Accelgor

I see. I'll give that a go and see how it runs for me, once I get my hands on a few Leafeon.

RE: Empoleon/Dusknoir/Accelgor

I tried out the Leafeon, and it was incredible. It worked very, very well for me; it just cranked out damage like nobody's buisiness. I added another Prinplup (it's amazing for consistency), 1 more water (with super rods I'm fine) and another silver mirror (plasma tears me to shreds if I don't get going on turn 2). I'll update the list in a little bit here.

I thought you'd like Leafeon! :D:D:D

I run that Poké in ALL my Dusknoir decks and it's fantastic match-ups against Darkrai, Fairy, etc. decks that need to put "lots" of energy into play.

Btw, I run a 4-2-4 Empoleon and 2-1-2 Dusknoir lines. I do not run Jirachi EX - no need.

RE: Empoleon/Dusknoir/Accelgor

I don't have room for the extra Dusknoir, but the second Prinplup is very, very good. It makes the deck a lot more consistent. What is your supporter line like?

I run :

2 - Bicycle
1 - Escape Rope
1 - Evosoda
2 - Level Ball
2 - Muscle Band
4 - N
3 - Professor Juniper
1 - Professor's Letter
4 - Rare Candy
3 - Skyla
2 - Super Rod
1 - Tool Scrapper
2 - Ultra Ball

RE: Empoleon/Dusknoir/Accelgor

So what do you guys think of the changes? That second Prinplup is very questionable at this point. He definitely ups my consistency a lot, and makes the rare candy crunch a lot better, but I can still play around with that slot. Is there anything dire that I'm missing here?

I'd think about bumping up both the Level Balls and Ultra Balls to 4-ofs. Also, I'd take out the Town Map and replace it with a second Tool Scrapper.

The town map is very nice in here, especially with Dusknoir. Picking a prize late game can be pretty instrumental. Why do you say to bump the balls to 4 ofs? Also, I'm not too sure about the Jirachi in here. What do you guys think?

You might as well play Jirachi because it adds consistency and does more for Empoleon.

Difficult to answer since I'm not sure what your current deck list is. So, please revise and list your current deck. Thanks.

That is a good point. The 4 Balls (at least level balls, you could probably do with only 3 Ultra Balls) are so critical because it basically searches for every Basic Pokemon you'd want to search for, even Prinplup, and Dusclops, if you run it (my current Empire list doesn't). You could play Jirachi if you'd like, but this deck has so much draw power it's ridiculous. Jirachi is always nice but in my experience with the deck, you're almost always good on Supporters. Besides, once you get Empoleons set up, you don't really need much else, other than remembering to keep your foot on the gas (in the words of Heretic) and setting up Benched Empoleons as often as possible in case your active gets knocked out.

Also, consider only 2 Juniper. Like I said, once you have your Empoleons set up, there's no reason to be discarding cards that could be huge late-game. This deck is scarily close to my decklist which I'll be putting together as early as tonight, maybe. Six Prizes France Regionals perhaps? :p Also, get this: adding two Blends and baby Terrakion for Retaliate; 30 + 60 when you were knocked out last turn = 180 to Darkrai. Instant incentive to not knock out your Empoleons with a Darkrai, which of course gives you the better end of the prize trade, and which is a particularly interesting matchup. Speaking of which, definitely add Mr. Mime to your list. There goes that night Spear Damage, unless of course they're paying Garbodor.
