PTCGO Energy being attached to random benched Pokemon instead of my choice

Today I noticed (for the first time) that when I used something like Max Elixir, Aqua Patch, among other examples, to attach energy to a benched Pokemon, I was not asked to select the Pokemon to attach the energy to, it was just assigned randomly to one of benched Pokemon. Has anyone seen this before?

Ahh, I see what happened I think, my other benched Pokemon probably didn't meet the criteria. Max Elixir can only attach energy to a Basic Pokemon (on the bench) and Aqua Patch can only attach energy to a Water Pokemon on the bench.
