Hi Are basic (fire, water, psychic, fighting, grass...) energy cards universal? Can they be used with any decks?
Eg I have many dragon frontier cards including both theme decks but none of the energy cards in the theme decks are water so can I nick the water energy cards from either my origional theme deck or my EX Sandstorm theme deck?
 
Yes, you can. You can use basic energies from any set, including those energies from sets which have been rotated out.
 
Thanks, would love to play in a tournament but their is no clubs ect in my area. Closest is 150 miles away!!
 
So can you or can you not use energies that have e-reader sets that they come from? I.E. a fire energy from the earlier sets.
 
u can use BASIC energy cards from ANY expansions, that explains it all!

BTW who needs real torney, there's something called apprentice and OCTGN
 
All Basic Energy cards can be used no matter what set they are in. Why? Well, the reason is that it doesn't really make a difference. A Fire Energy is a Fire Energy, it doesn't give any other good other than providing a Fire Energy. So, there is really no difference between the older versions of these basic Energy Cards than the newer versions except the borders of the cards. Take note that these so-called-differences doesn't bring any further good.
 
Yes I figured as much. The only thing is that one could possibly cheat using th eold energies which are fatter and much easier to spot when picked up, rather than the new ones. I don't know if that counts for anything.
